Well I'm not sure who manages brickstore or if it's even still being
updated, but bricklink could solve that problem by making an option for "Use
old quantity". Then you could download your whole inventory into brickstore and
update remarks from there and then set all quantities to 0 in brickstore and
upload. Is there a way to do that with a different program?

While not a easy as Brickstore, you can open/import the xml file in MS Excel
and make changes. Then you export the new xml file, open in notepad make few
minor deletions and then you can upload to Bricklink.
- to export in Excel you must have the developer tab in the ribbon enabled -
from the options menu
- always name the exported xml file inventory (this sets the open and closing
tags)
- delete up the version data
- copy the text to clipboard (ctrl+a then ctrl+c for windows)
