Hello,

From my 3 years experience surfing the site and making orders, I have run into
a number of issues and scenarios that I would like to share with you as enhancement
suggestions:
- setting an option to display the price per part. This should be useful for
buyers who want to buy based on this criterion or for resellers who want to part
out specific sets.
- setting an option to display set color percentages. This should be useful to
buyers who are concentrating on buying a specific color by purchasing relevant
sets.
- adding a search or browse option where buyers can browse items in all fields
based on price. This should be helpful for buyers with tight budgets who are
looking for something that may be interesting and are budget limited.
- adding a custom search field where buyers can set the criteria they want to
do the search for.

I am sure the above suggestions will help buyers make more intelligent decisions.

That is available already. Just "part out" the set selecting six month average
(or by quantity if you want) but don't actually verify that you want to add
the parts.

Remember that there is no such thing as an actual price per part though. Each
store owner sets his own price for every part he has.

This is faster (but you see the summary not the individual parts)

I know. But as it doesn't give you the price per part as asked for, I didn't
give that route. The other good thing about going that way is that you can see
whether there are any pieces that are worth a lot, and check they are still worth
a lot. It often happens that new parts skew the prices. Historically (over six
months) they may have been worth a lot when there were very few around, but when
they become common, the price drops. So it is always worth checking if one part
makes it looks like the set is valuable, when it is not.

Hello,

Thank you all for your suggestions. But what I am actually asking about, is not
the actual price for a specific piece but rather, the price per piece for any
set.

To explain further, if a set has 300 pieces and the cost is 30$, then the price
per piece or PPP would be 30$/300pieces=10cents.

Doing the parting thing you referred to is very time consuming and will also
not achieve the result I am looking for.

Now I am well aware that this is not a way to get precise details as some pieces
(like motors and stuff) can skew the PPP drastically, but it is a good way to
compare sets when you have NO special sets or pieces in mind and care only about
numbers of pieces you can get.

Brickset gives a price per part average for sets based on their suggested retail
list price.

The way I calculate it;

one pounds of bricks (*mixed and used) - Worth an average of 10$ on the open
market.

So since One pound of brick is 453g and an average part weight 2g. I will get
226 parts

So 226 parts at 10$ a pound = 0.04 a part(used) average. Now if you brick/part
weight more then 2g do the math to find the value. For figures; Different way
to calculate it*(another topic or time if you ask me).

I did the same exercise for the New sets avarage of 0.11$ similar to the approach
you have in your request.

Look nice from here, but don't forget your time, transport, mishap and so
on are not calculated in the value of this suggestion. We are talking about the
way to calculate a single brick.

Sincerely, Pascal
