With the current system in place, I can view how many people have listed my store
as their least/most favorite. However, it's just that-- numbers. I could
certainly speculate as to why I think a user favorited my store (whether it's
least or most), but it would still be my speculation.

Why not send the recipient of those favorites, the comments associated with them,
to improve store experience. That way, we [sellers] know what we're doing right
(e.g. Someone appreciates that you, say, ship quickly or have low prices. Or
something else that wouldn't be explicitly stated in feedback), and what isn't
working (or rather, what is keeping away potential customers). As of right now,
we don't know either way, unless someone sends you a message.

And of course the comments would remain anonymous, to protect privacy of users.

It's been suggested. (It may actually have been how things worked at some point.)

It's not a very good plan. The benefit is limited, and the potential harm is
significant.

I mostly use my Favorites as a sort of Wanted List. If I'm browsing in a store
and I find a great deal (but I don't want to buy right now), or if there's good
selection of parts in a particular category, etc, I will Most Favorite them and
put the details in the notes. But it would not be particularly useful for a seller
to see that. It would just be some parts that I want. Doesn't really help them.

Also, for the Least Favorite, it would hard to keep it anonymous a lot of the
time. Here's someone I put on my Least quite a while ago:
"Attaches parts together. Poorly bagged. New parts maybe not new?"

I added that after contacting the seller about the attaching parts issue. If
they got to see the message after I put it up, they would clearly know that it
was me. I didn't bring up the item with them where I thought that parts they
had listed as "new" actually weren't, because their reaction to my "attaches
parts" was poor.

Now, imagine if they got this notification, that I wrote "New parts maybe not
new", and they messaged me, to tell me that I have no idea what I'm talking about,
and I'd better not be spreading lies about them selling used parts as new etc
etc. That is certainly not an email that I would want to receive.

Or,

even it anonymity was preserved: What if someone wrote something hateful in the
Least Favorites section? Would that be something that could be removable? I doubt
that I'd want to go look at my Fave notes and see something offensive every time.

How do you view who has your store as most/least favourite?

I agree that it would be great for members to post comments so you can improve
your store, sort of like anonymouse feedback but it seems like a function that
isn't NEEDED. There is no guarantee that many people will make any comments since
many people don't leave feedback. Even if people did would it be of much use?
If someone likes your store and says "great prices and great service" does that
really help and if someone says "parts too expensive" but you have already listed
parts as cheap as you want them to be is that any help?

Right, and I see where you're coming from here. It's a very legitimate concern.
The only solution, I think, would be to have the comments be shown to the recipient
optionally. If you didn't want the recipient to see it, whether it's none of
their business, or something that isn't relevant to them, then keeping it private
should be allowed.

I can imagine that, yes, there would be an option to remove the comment from
your view, and perhaps an option to report it, should it be derogatory.

The reason I suggest this, and what I believe to be the vice with the current
system, is that numbers alone don't do anyone any good (especially because, as
you said, a most favorite could mean nothing more than a way of keeping track
of stores to someone, not that they like the store itself). If anything, it probably
just makes some store owners anxious about why they would have received a least
favorite, or even several. I think it would be best to either get rid of the
numbers completely (perhaps just the least favorite), or implement something
similar to this.

If there are so many potential issues/questions as to how it work, you could
just go to an external type survey engine like surveymonkey and make up your
own to see how you are doing and send them a link with your invoice or after
feedback or something like that. Might give you a quicker turn around....just
a thought.
