How about a temporary home page with bare bones info in several languages?
with a click here box to enter the real home page

It's possible many haven't looked at the forum, judging by the angry messages
that seem to be coming in.

That's a good idea, especially the several languages part.
It sometimes seems that many of the messages that sound like
they don't know anything has happened are coming from
non-English-speaking or English-as-a-Second Language members,
where knowing what has been going on could truly be difficult.
And that might help with the English-speaking but never reading
members as well

Yup in the forum although I imagine theres a load going to Admin too.

Would seem so and the read now links to a lengthy thread NOT a brief on whats
happened.

Also I have had orders from UK and US/CA members who had no idea what had happened/is
happening
