MANY, and I mean MANY people have bought from me thinking I OWN BRICKLINK.
They do not have the concept that there are hundreds if not thousands of sellers
on here.
I have had a selling account for a short time, and someone thought I was BrickLink,
too. It's not uncommon. Talking with people in public who I meet for selling,
and I mention that I also sell on Bricklink they say they've heard of that and
ask me if I own it. Moms and dads who are wet behind the ears have no clue.

Hmmm... "... my other stores on this site." This is the second time you have
mentioned having other stores on this site. If so, that means you have duplicate
accounts in violation of the ToS. Would you care to elaborate on those other
stores and accounts and explain why you feel owning multiple stores and accounts
does not violate the ToS.
I believe he meant "other stores", because of the questions about other stores.
Forget about new user screens and probation and blocking. If experienced members
won't follow the rules I don't see how we can expect new members to follow them.
You mentioned "my other storeS". At least twice. The plural suggests more than
one other store. Maybe it is your sisters' stores?
Thor
I think he mistyped it was supposed to be his "sister's Toes."
Isn't this getting a little ridiculous to waste this much time on his sister's
toes?

I don't think so. He wrote "MY other stores on this site", and this is the SECOND
time he mentioned having other BL stores. In fact, Dan and Jon have mentioned
several times that they have purchased a number of other BrickLink stores and
that this was one reason they were having so much trouble recently with their
inventory and multiple identical listings. Let's also not forget that Jon's mentor
or partner, Dan, has had multiple accounts in the past and has long desired another
"personal" account. This to me is at least as suspicious as a zero feedback seller
with cheap sets. But perhaps Jon can explain this rather than us guessing about
it.

Plastic Brick Museum (or whatever the old, now closed, store was called) and
Warehouse would constitute multiple stores. Not necessarily all active and open
stores. From what I can tell, the User ID for the store Warehouse seems to be
used by multiple people. If it's a violation of BrickLink rules to have multiple
people using the same login, there's a lot of other people the posse needs to
chase down as well.
In fact, Dan and Jon have mentioned
several times that they have purchased a number of other BrickLink stores and

This doesn't necessarily mean any BrickLink rules were violated. We can never
forget the egregious offense associated with the username clarity (or whatever
it was). BrickLink rules were modified to prevent the same thing happening again.
But it is entirely within BrickLink rules for someone to buy the entire store
inventory from another user. (Just not their actual username and FB). When
such a transaction takes place, it would be logical for the buyer to request
an XML file of the store inventory before purchase so that the contents are easily
uploaded to their store. And depending on how that inventory was added to their
store and verified, duplicate lots could indeed be a problem.

It was determined that it would be better to have a new store due to the harrassment
from some of the forum people which spilled out into the real world.
Old news!
I was quite upset at the loss of feedback, but that is how this site works!
I have no earned over 3000 feedbacks on my new store.
My old one (I think) is dead.
I changed my name on this store to get more of an adult feeling.
The original was created by my mentor, and he has since moved on.
Not sure where the tangent came from, but I can assume it was a post from our
#1 poster.
So I will again ignore that person since he does not ignore my posts as requested
by myself and multiple others.
Back to topic;
WHEN I was new, I did not see any problem with a marker that showed I was a new
store.
Experianced buyers understood I was new.
The new people who have driven this site from 1 million orders to 2 million orders
is what I was speaking of.
I do believe a buyer who has never used this site would like some kind of warning
he/she is buying from an individual vs. a corporate entity.
MANY, MANY, MANY people do not understand this simple fact.
I do not wish to argue this, I get this from the emails sent to me all the time.
If you do not get these emails, then I am doing something incorrect and please
send me an email to tell me how to resolve this problem.

Thor - Lay off. If someone thinks a person "owns" bricklink, then they would
ask him about purchasing from his other stores. So the confusion is on the buyer,
not on BBD. It sure seems to me that you are trying to twist the words to make
him look bad.

It was quite obvious for most of us what Jon was trying to explain.....But apparently
you saw this as another opportunity to keep your ego in the spotlights.
Do you have nothing better to do then constantly bashing people on this forum?

I did read the whole thread. I also see a pattern of you busting his balls
every chance you get. I also noted that some others didn't misconstrue his post
to mean something very different.

Pretty standard. Some here want to be the BL police.
He likes to play this game. I do not respond to his or one others postings about
me.
Same crap, different day.
He tries to bait me into responding to his silly notions!
I do not have another store on this site.
I do not want another store on this site.
I used to run another store on this site. That store closed and we opened this
store.
I got screwed by that transaction on feedback.
I would like some place to try things on this site.
I have done major damage to the current store trying to fix things.
Thank you for understanding, and NOT posting his crap in your responses.
I have asked the MODs and Admin to get this person to leave me the hell alone.
He will not.
If he really wants a fight, then so be it.
But I really do not wish to get into this silly game.
I am here to sell LEGO product!
I plan to. I will continue to do so until this gets boring and I move on.
Perhaps they have not done so because they expect you to handle your own problems?
And maybe they think it is perfectly legitimate for members to police themselves
by making sure everyone respects the ToS and plays by the same rules.
Let me make this clear for you, so you aren't misconstruing Mod action or inaction:
You misread something and then used that to launch into another tirade against
a user whom you have history with. I did point out that you misread the situation,
which you seemed to ignore. Every post is not a reason for you to dig up past
issues.
This thread is done, and I will be locking it after making this post.

Happened to me once. I got a money order made out to Bricklink and telling me
what a good job I was doing with the bricklink site.

Hmmm... "... my other stores on this site." This is the second time you have

You are misreading the post foster. Please slow down and try not to be so quick
to jump on someone. It is clear to me and most others that Jon is fielding questions
from his buyers about buying at "his other stores on this site". A buyer assuming
that others stores belong to him is not the same as him stating that he actually
has these other stores.
Also, some buyers really ARE that confused about such things and view "bricklink"
as one giant entity. It may seem obvious to most of us that BL is multiple stores,
but not everyone understands that. I have fielded similar questions over the
years, especially about combining orders with other stores.
I suggest there be a screen for New Users and New Sellers that tell them some
of the basic issues about the site.
Example;
Check the feedback on the seller BEFORE buying
Do you understand the feedback system
You MUST have the product in stock before listing on this site.
Have them check mark each of these before being able to start buying or selling.
I know it probably will not help many of them avoid the trappings of the site!
But if it saves a few, that is better then not saving them!
Also I think a probation color or warning should be on ALL stores with less then
10-50 feedback!
Again, I would have been fine with that in the beginning!

I would have to vote NO on this. In the more than 6000 transactions as a seller
here, we have never had anyone confuse us with owning BrickLink. We have also
never had anyone request us to combine their order with another order from another
store. I think that the links to the tutorials on the home page and tutorials
themselves are satisfying the job.

Indeed, the homepage is also clear enough about ownership of the stores:
