There are many times LEGO pieces that have been released in rare colors that
never came in a set. Because of this, they are never listed as having been found
in a set in the database. Is there a way that we can have a dummy set called
"Unreleased" that would include these. That way one is able to quickly see which
parts actually have, thus far, been found in rare colors and is easily able to
have access to them all at one time? I hope that makes sense.
We did and it was deleted within a week or so. I have no idea why.

Hey, I had one as well for some time, long before it was used in the Toy Story
set. I think the value was about 10$ (but I didn't list it), I sold it last week
for 0.25 $
Luckely I still have a brown one

I've seen this in blue, brown, yellow, white, and green in the past. Officially
only red, light gray, and black came out in sets so all other colors are either
unauthorized factory production or was produced for use in LEGO parks and
shouldn't have come out in public. The 2x2x5 support hasn't been produced
for many years so I doubt those odd colors will suddenly show up in future sets
like your parts.

And some of the sales are for parts in a color that was listed wrong.
Bret
Yes that is another main reason that I would like that. So that there is a list
of those colors that have been verified to be in a rare color and not listed
incorrectly.

I think the best way to prove existance is if CA's would only approve real pictures
for those particular colors in stead of accepting 'desing' colors (No critics
on Troy's work however!), but part:
IHMO the dark red never existed, it is the 2881click (unless someone really has
one, then I would be interested in buying it as I allready have all other colors)
[p=2881click]
Some sellers listed them in the past, most of them I asked to verify if they
were 2881 or 2881click. All send me a message they listed them wrongly. I can't
tell wether the part actually exists, but it is very understandable that Troy
uploaded the 'dark red' because some listed it (wrongly). I think Troy would
be the only one to answer that question offcourse.
A seperate list would be great, but it would contain thousands of parts, is that
reasonable?

I think Admin tried this, but I'm not sure it works. In My Inventory, there is
a checkbox under the search for "no appearance in inv" which is supposed to dynamically
check to see if your parts do not appear in any set inventory.
in green, which was never in a set, and it doesn't show
on the search results. So I think it's only searching the parts, not the part/color
combo.
it would be great if it checked colors too. if you can run this on your own
inventory, then it would not bee too much of a stretch to run it for all items
currently for sale ( or maybe on price guide data). It would be a good way to
notify sellers if they have "questionable" lots that they need to double check
for accuracy.
