Hi there, I’ve been a fan of LEGO products since the mid 1970s, getting even more involved when the good minifigs began (hands out of pockets and smiles!). I still own maxifig sets, and Classic Space and Classic Castle (928 Space Cruiser & Moonbase and 375 Yellow Castle, with box!) But I think the golden years of LEGO sets was around 1988-1993. And I missed most of it. I managed to buy some Pirates/Islanders sets much later. Unfortunately I had several Dark Age periods, and I really got back into LEGO around 1999. Expanded my collection largely due to the Star Wars glut fiasco and K-mart closing stores. But themes like Galidor, Juniors, and the color changing disaster (bleys, redbrown, creamtan) pretty much spelled the end of the “clean era”. With the SNOT era the designs got more interesting, and some of the colors are more like what’s seen in real life, but the licensed franchises are still dictating parts too much. And LEGO is using more and more tiny parts in order to make the price-per-piece look good, but I think we all know how corporations operate. Hopefully Bricklink stores won’t be putting the bottom line above humanity and customer service. I do prefer ketchup over mustard, but I'm still unsure which to put on my pizza!
