The Inn at the Crossroads is a place for all people in the kingdom. Where peaceful meetings can occur and old friends can reunite. In this model three different factions and their company are joining together at the inn before embarking on their own journeys. There is room for their horses, equipment, supplies, and a place to eat, drink, and rest.

The inn is a newer structure built upon and in the ruins of an old keep. A once fortified castle has now been transformed into a safe haven for travelers. Different members of the royal families have found this to be of their favorites. Even artists travel to capture the beauty of the old inn.

Inspiration

I always found medieval inns in stories and tales to be a fascinating place. Usually associated with secrets and meetings, while still being a place of union. Where people from different backgrounds find common place to share.

Thinking of the inn as a shared place among different medieval factions was an exciting approach to this design, while still keeping some sense of mystery and perhaps danger that is associated with ancient tales of what the castle used to be. A hidden door allows for a secret storage room that has been forgotten by most.
