Welcome to my Viking home! My craftsmen are hard at work building a new ship to set sail for new horizons. Come join and help me put it together! But first, let me show you around the longhouse.

Right by the door, you’ll see a big stone with carvings: that’s a runestone. The inside of the house is a bit dark, with only small windows letting in the light, creating a mystic feeling. The air smells like smoke and dried meat, making it feel warm and creating a cozy atmosphere. Hanging along the walls, you will find a collection of my finest tools and weapons.

As you move further inside, you will reach the heart of the house. There’s a big fire pit here, where everyone gathers to cook and spend time together. Long wooden benches run along the walls - people sit on them during the day and sleep on them at night. The room is filled with crafted wooden furniture, chests, and a loom where someone is weaving a colorful carpet.

From here, two ladders lead to the upper level, used for storage and additional sleeping space. At the back of the house is a big wooden table, and behind that, a small stall where animals can stay warm during the cold months.

Outside, my workers are already busy at the shipyard. I have set up a small workshop and a forge to help with the build. So, what do you say: want to join the team and help build the ship?

Behind the design:

Being fascinated by Nordic architecture and Vikings, I had so much fun designing this Viking-themed set. The starting point for this project was building the longhouse, which I wanted to make the focal point of the project. For playability reasons, I decided to make the house and ship detachable from the base, which also allows for rearranging these elements into a different setting. Also, all roof elements and floors can be removed to facilitate access to the inside of the model.

The set includes seven minifigures: Harald (leader), Gunnar (craftsman), Ulrika (craftswoman), Ragnhild (sorceress), Morten (blacksmith), Olaf (healer), and Astrid (apprentice).
