The Imperial Hacienda

Once a grand colonial residence known as The Imperial Hacienda, this building stood as a symbol of elegance and influence in southern Mexico. Its symmetrical façade, elevated balcony, and ornate details reflected the architectural language of the Colonial Baroque period.

Over time, as the surrounding city grew, the hacienda was carefully preserved and transformed into a museum—opening its doors to the public while maintaining its historic character. Today, it stands as a bridge between past and present, where architecture itself becomes the main exhibit.

Designed as a display-focused model, the structure highlights strong symmetry, layered detailing, and a refined color palette, offering both a rewarding building experience and a visually striking centerpiece.

Facade, Architecture & Building Technique Description

The Imperial Hacienda showcases the elegance of Colonial Baroque architecture through a carefully balanced and symmetrical façade, featuring layered cornices, tall vertical windows, and a prominent central balcony that defines the building’s formal character. The structure emphasizes depth and texture by combining offset elements and stacked detailing, recreating the richness of historic ornamentation at a compact scale. The model uses a combination of layered building techniques and subtle offsets to recreate the depth and ornamentation of Colonial Baroque architecture at a compact scale. Its façade is constructed through mirrored sections to achieve precise symmetry, while small, repeated assemblies add texture and detail. The structure is divided into modular sections, allowing easy access to the interior and creating a smooth, logical building process that balances visual complexity with structural clarity. This approach results in a model that is both structurally satisfying to assemble and visually refined as a display piece.

Interior, Architecture & Building Technique Description

The interior is built using a clean, modular layout that prioritizes accessibility and visual clarity. A tiled floor pattern is achieved through repeated elements to reinforce symmetry, while transparent display cases are carefully constructed to showcase a variety of artifacts and antique art pieces, adding focal points without overcrowding the space. The open plan allows each section to be easily assembled and rearranged, resulting in a smooth building experience that balances simplicity with refined detail.
