Description

"My Moon, My Artemis" is a creative rework of my previous BDP Series 10 entry, Moonlight Flight.

The inspiration for this piece comes from a particular animation where the moon serves as a pivotal setting—it is the location of the protagonists' first date, the place where they confirm their feelings, and a vessel for their shared dreams.

Moving by this theme, I set out to create an "Art Object" centered on the moon. In this scene, the heroine who has finally reached the lunar surface is reimagined as Artemis, the Goddess of the Moon.

The core concept of this work is Disconnection. Despite being in each other's line of sight, there is no physical means for the Astronomer and Artemis to reach one another. I intentionally avoided any physical connection between the two sections to emphasize this insurmountable distance—a sense of isolation where they remain visible to each other, yet forever out of reach.

On a personal note, this project also reflects a period of my life from a few years ago. During those challenging times, the moon was a constant presence that lit up the night sky for me. Perhaps this creation is my way of looking back at that version of myself with a sense of comfort and reflection.
