Description

The Story
Come and enjoy the town on a cozy ride with the Dining Tramcar and have a fine meal or coffee time on tracks! Experience another century with the heritage tram in an era of technological changes. Starting point of your sightseeing tour on tracks is the glass station with its Little Grey Owl's fountain.

The Model
Inspired by the real Tramway Restaurant in Christchurch, this model wants to bring the idea of experiencing a town on tracks while dining or enjoying a cup of coffee and a slice of cake in your own lego city. The concept is not set in a specified era or timeline. However, the looks wants to catch the 20s to 60s of our last century.

The model features a heritage tram on a bed of tracks and a tram station with a part of a forecourt where you can see a beautiful little fountain. The little grey owl statue in it greets its visitors with a stoic glance. On one side is a bicycle stand with a yellow bike. A blank advertising pillar and a flowerbed on the other side round the forecourt up. The pillar remains blank so that you can decorate it yourself with stickers or posters (not included) to have an individual style with your copy of the model. But beware of the pigeons! They like to occupy the pillar while always on the search for some food. The barrel grinder with her huge barrel organ provides musical entertainment in the square.

To supply the kitchen of the tramcar with groceries, I decided to implement also a food supply truck which comes in a vintage look with an open and spacious loading area.

Minifigures
The model contains 8 minifigures with their individual personalities to weave some sort of storytelling in. These are:

• female tramcar driver: always with a happy smile in her face;
• male waiter: always at your service during the sightseeing journey on tracks;
• male chief: he conjures up delicious treats for your experience on tracks;
• female gourmet: maybe a tourist on a date who wants to have a special experience. Or maybe a wife with her husband on a special date;
• male gourmet: a tourist or resident on a date with a recently met woman or with his wife;
• older man: a mysterious person, but who is he? Is he a resident or a visitor? An artist, or someone else? It is only known that he is always carrying a pink bag with him and riding a yellow bike;
• female organ grinder: grown up as an orphan, she is now a street artist who provides musical entertainment at the forecourt of the tram station;
• male truck driver: he drives the vintage car supplying the kitchen of the tramcar with groceries. It is unsure if his name is Timmy or if he is working for a store named Timmy's Groceries. He is always accompanied by a white little feathered fellow.
