The model comprises a steam roller with tanker trailer, and an old workshop building. Two minifigs are included.

The steam roller uses Technic elements to recreate the movement of the steam engine and of the steering column. The front axle is mounted using a friction pin, so it can be swivelled to provide steering. Besides road-laying, steam rollers where often used as traction engines for road transport. Green is the most apropriate choice of livery for the steam roller.

The tanker trailer is used to carry a water supply when paving roads. It's also useful for travelling, steam engines are thirsty!

The workshop is a brick built design inspired by factory buildings of the late 19th century around Berlin, back then a center of industry. I used different tones of bricks, just like bricks of different tones were used for building back then! The workshop includes a smithy for iron-working, and a crane bridge for hauling heavy iron parts. The crane bridge is movable on two rails running along the top of the building. Chains are provided for carrying loads and for engaging the crane mechanism.

Two minifigures are hard at work, as can bee seen from their outfit. I imagine the lady to be a tinker and blacksmith, so she's wearing a leather apron and goggles. The gentleman is the engine driver and a road worker, that's why he has some stains of dirt in his face.

The model has a total of 800 parts. The building instructions amount to 235 pages incl. BOM.
