About This Model

This model depicts a stately railway station in a regional city.

The station was inspired by railway stations found in northern France, combining traditional architecture with modern elements to create a unique and welcoming atmosphere.

Overview

The centerpiece of the model is the station building, featuring three large arches, a grand roof, and a clock tower at its center.

On either side of the main station building are two modern structures: a cafeteria and a kiosk. Outside the station, there is a bus stop on one side and a platform on the other.

The interior is arranged on a single floor. At the center is a distinctive clock and triangular bench, with the cafeteria and kiosk located on either side.

Features & Details

Images 1–3:

Front of the Station

The station is characterized by its three large arches, grand roof, and central clock tower.

Above the central entrance is a sign displaying the station name and a train symbol. The station is named “BRICIENNES”.

The building combines beautiful brick and stonework with modern structures on both sides, creating a contrast between classic and contemporary architecture.

Images 4–5:

Platform Side

The platform-side design follows the architectural style of the front facade. However, instead of a clock tower, the central section displays the year the station was built.

The roof above the platform features skylights that allow natural light to filter through.

Benches are placed along the platform for passengers to sit and wait for their trains.

One of the notable features is the enclosed entrance connecting the station building to the platform, designed as a small vestibule to protect passengers from wind and bad weather.

And if you look closely, you might even spot a spider underneath the platform... Someone also left an empty can there.

Please remember to put your rubbish in the bin!

Removable Roof

The roof of the station building can be removed, making the interior easily accessible for play and display.

Exterior Details

The main entrance features a staircase decorated with tile artwork.

Flower beds are placed on both sides of the staircase, adding a touch of greenery to the entrance.

On the right side of the station is a tree with a bus stop underneath. The bus stop follows the same modern architectural style as the surrounding buildings.

The bench design at the bus stop is one of my favorite details.

On the left side is the cafeteria building, which also provides another entrance to the station. This entrance features a gentle ramp that is easy to access with a stroller or wheelchair.

Since I recently became a parent, I wanted to incorporate accessibility and stroller-friendly design into the model.

The cafeteria terrace features sliding shutters that can be opened and closed.

Surrounding Details

This image shows the details around the station building.

One of my favorite details is the way the arched windows on the kiosk side are constructed.

Interior Details

At the center of the entrance is a distinctive seating area built around the station clock.

Above the entrance leading to the platform is a departure board, with a ticket vending machine located to its right.

Be careful not to miss your train!

On the right side, the kiosk sells magazines, LEGO sets, snacks, and drinks. I particularly enjoyed designing the shelves and display units inside the shop.

On the left side is the cafeteria. If you're feeling a little hungry, grab a snack and enjoy it at one of the tables on either side.

Or, of course, you can take your food outside and enjoy it on the terrace.
