AMBUSH IN SPACE!

3,368 pieces • 5 spacecrafts • 8 minifigures • Infinite adventure

When cargo runs turn into cosmic chaos, only the bravest — and the most unpredictable — dare to intervene. Ambush In Space! is a sprawling sci‑fi adventure built in bricks, featuring a daring ambush, a mysterious mechanical attacker, and a heroic rescue that becomes the talk of the star system.

The set brings together five inventive spacecrafts, eight minifigures, and a modular display system that lets builders recreate the entire dramatic encounter — from the first ominous shadow of the Kraken to the Sparrow ’s last‑second intervention and The Humboldt 's escape.

THE STORY

The Space Courier is on a routine cargo run, carrying supplies across the star system. Its crew — Pilot 2nd Class Carter Catastrophy , who expects disaster as a matter of principle, and Navigator 3rd Class Victor Von Void , who gets lost even with a star map taped to his visor — are blissfully unaware of the danger lurking nearby.

For weeks, rumors have circulated about a terrifying raider known only as the Kraken . Some say it’s alien. Others swear it’s alive! Most believe it’s just a silly sailor story to scare the greenhorns of the Space Fleet.

They’re all wrong.

The Kraken is very real — a heavily modified Space Yacht called the Humboldt , fused with a vicious looking Clamp Module sporting two massive mechanical tentacles. Together, they form a towering, dark‑red, squid‑like ambush predator capable of ripping ships apart and vanishing into the void.

Inside the Humboldt is a desperate pilot and now determined thief:

Captain Kelly Calamari , a brilliant pilot trapped on a resource‑starved planetCaptain Kelly Calamari

Back at their base of operation on planet Starvelon — The galaxy’s most underfunded, underfed, and under‑everything colony

C.H.A.D., Kelly’s loyal android companion whose brain gets uploaded onto the ship when on a mission.C.H.A.D.
Barry Barnacles , the ship’s mechanic with a mechanical leg and a toolkit that rattles constantly. He built the Clamp Module for the Humboldt in a cave - with a bunch of scraps…Barry Barnacles
Miss Aka Poulpo , the settlement’s accountant who keeps the operation solvent and keeps an eye on their benefactor. Speaking of whichMiss Aka Poulpo
Tony Sardines , the down-on-his-luck, shady owner of the Humboldt, who insists on a nautical theme as a joke and takes a hefty cut of the loot for access to his shipTony Sardines

Their goal: steal cargo to keep their struggling community alive.

Their target today: the unsuspecting Space Courier.

But fate intervenes. A patrolling Sparrow Space Patrol Drone Wing, piloted by the heroic Commander Vega Vortex , spots the disturbance. With two high‑speed drones docked on top of its wings, the Sparrow dives into action — ready to defend the innocent, uphold the honor of the Space Fleet, and maybe strike a heroic pose while doing it.

The ambush becomes a rescue.

The rescue becomes a chase.

And the chase becomes a legend.
