The police detective has been called to investigate a missing person case. Examining his notes on the case, he notices that the victim was last seen holding a dark red book. Perhaps a clue as to why he has gone missing?

The suspects:

Miss Grey: A writer with a love for the stars. She had been on a few dates with the man before his mysterious disappearance and says that she had nothing to do with his disappearance, yet the large pile of money hidden under her bed seemed rather curious to the detective.
The Groundskeeper: An older lady who cared very much about her job and had been working for Miss Grey for many, many years. The detective noticed that she didn't speak kindly of Mr Olive, she had stated that she had seen him poking around the garden a few times for no apparent reason.
The personal Chef: He hadn't been Miss Grey's chef for too long, but he seemed very protective of her and concerned for her well-being. He had stated that Miss Grey was always so engrossed in her stories that she would have gone without food if he hadn't been there.

Can you help the detective solve this case?

I've been thinking about the interactivity of adult sets for a while, and how I love little details that you can find within models. I was then thinking about storytelling and how you can have passive storytelling in a fun and interesting manner. My solution is to incorporate those fun little details in the build that require you to solve a missing person's case as clues! Fully interactive and able to be taken apart to thoroughly explore and discover any clues about the perpetrator.

I believe this would make a great Lego set because it brings to life a concept that hasn't really been explored, the idea that there are things to discover within a build that are then used to create a solution to a problem (or in this case, a mystery!). Have I created this build with a set story in mind? Absolutely, but that doesn't mean you can't create your own conclusions as to what has occurred.

The final render shows the objects that pertain to the 'plot' of the build:

A fork is missing from the table.
The bookshelf contains a slide-out section of books (the only one that has a dark red book), and inside is a miniature version of the fridge.
The fridge has openable doors, and within the bottom section is a miniature lounge.
The back of the lounge has a hidden fork (I imagine it wedged in behind the cushions).
The underside of the bed has a pile of money.
