A Trading Post at the Heart of the Trade Routes

The Southern Merchants' Trading Post is a lively trading building, combining commercial spaces, storage areas and living quarters within a richly detailed architectural design.

Its façade combines different textures with two balconies, arches, signs, etc., giving the building a recognizable silhouette while preserving the irregular and lively appearance of a medieval construction.

An Original and Versatile Architecture

With its architecture inspired by trading posts and the commercial routes of the South, the model offers an aesthetic rarely seen in the traditional LEGO medieval universe. Its shapes, proportions, colors and architectural elements differ from classic European medieval buildings, giving it a more southern and cosmopolitan identity.

The design was also conceived to remain sufficiently versatile to integrate naturally into different settings. Depending on its surroundings and the buildings around it, the trading post can evoke a medieval, oriental, Mediterranean setting, or one inspired by the great trade routes.

This versatility allows the building to fit into collections with very different styles, while retaining its own identity.

Finally, the model has been designed to be equally detailed from every angle – 360° – so it can be displayed in any position on your shelves and easily incorporated into a medieval town or a larger diorama.

A Rich Interior to Explore

The interior reveals different spaces dedicated to trade and everyday life: a counter, displays presenting various goods, storage rooms for merchandise, the merchants' apartment, a library, a room containing administrative elements such as the account book, etc.

Each space is furnished with furniture, goods and numerous small details, offering new scenes to discover from different angles: a globe and a map of merchant routes, a ledger, a safe containing coins and ingots, numerous goods, a monkey stealing a banana...

A Modular Design

The building is composed of several parts/modules that can be easily separated and reassembled.

This modularity makes it easier to access the interior spaces and allows the minifigures to be arranged in action throughout the different rooms.

Designed for Play

The different spaces and elements of the building are easily accessible and allow many situations to be recreated: negotiating with merchants, the arrival of a caravan, loading goods, everyday life or travelers simply passing through: all doors and windows can be opened, a horse-drawn caravan is integrated into the model, the goods can be easily detached, and animals and characters allow many scenes to be created.

The layout of the building therefore offers many points of interaction while maintaining a strong presence when displayed.

A Community of Minifigures

The trading post welcomes a variety of characters: merchants, travelers, craftsmen, guards and inhabitants, each bringing a new scene to imagine:

A coachman
Four female/male merchants, whose roles can be interchanged
Two guards (one woman and one man)
A foreign soldier traveling
Two customers/travelers
A child

The various accessories and goods make it possible to customize the scenes and easily change the activity taking place at the trading post.
