In the highlands lies a courtyard. A place of tranquility for the princess and wandering travelers from lands near and far. With the Royal Courtyard I attempted to give it an aged aesthetic from the long years that it has existed and been used for a place of refuge.

The model features a main fountain and plants within to create a nature feel along with many interior rooms such as a kitchen and a bedroom for a princess for when she needs time away from her kingdom. There are also rooms for soldiers such as a room for rest, bedrooms, and food storage. Along the halls there's an homage to a little cat, a target for practice, and other fun decorations.

I was also particularly fond of the hallway on the right side of the building that features elegant walls and a perfect spot for a battle between the gold fisted soldier and the silly skeleton.

Overall the model was built in four parts that were then put together with the main gate, the two hallways, and the main tower. I also included two pear trees that I felt would be fun additions to the build and an orange tree as a refreshing snack. Along the side of the build you may also notice a mysterious magician who uses his abilities to entertain.

Overall the build comes with 12 minifigures and a skeleton with four soldiers as scouts and two soldiers who serve as the princess’ royal guard.

With this build I really wanted to try new techniques such as the slanted hallways and challenge myself and I think it paid off very well.

I hope you fare well on your travels and visit the Royal Courtyard !
