Unlike the fictional story of Peter Parker being bitten by a radioactive spider turning him into Spiderman, the story of The Bicycling Guitarist really happened. When he was six years old, the boy who would eventually become The Bicycling Guitarist was exposed to continual close contact with a contaminated canine—Daiquiri, the Radioactive Beagle—for the next fourteen years until the end of the dog's life.

Soon after his dog died, the Radioactive Beagle powers transformed Chris Watson into The Bicycling Guitarist. No, he's not able to leap tall buildings in a single bound, but he is able to play a Fender Stratocaster guitar while riding a Schwinn ten-speed bicycle “no hands.” Since he was sometimes called a traveling minstrel, his red Schwinn became “The Minstrel Cycle.”

The Bicycling Guitarist with Peter Griffin

The Bicycling Guitarist used to hang out with Peter Griffin of the Family Guy TV show, but as you can see it didn't work out (as he couldn't see!)

Now you can buy Lego models of The Bicycling Guitarist, designed and built by The Bicycling Guitarist himself! The kits are shipped partly disassembled but the arrangement can be easily figured out.
