I have this item in the variant with a black crown and with a gray crown. You
can see that difference also in the 4th image. Why aren´t there two variants
by Bricklink catalogue? I guess buyers either want black or gray.

Could be that the issue was not consistent and that there is a whole grayscale
of possibilities.
