Had my store open just under two weeks and I have had a couple of good orders,
very pleased. My stock ranges from Mini Figures to full sets but I am on the
fence which works best or is preferred from a buyers perspective.

Currently I have a tiered Handling Fees which are clearly shown in my Shipping
Policy and have no Minimum Buy.

Handling Fees are:

Less than £5 fee £1.50
Less than £10.00 fee £1.25
Less than £20.00 fee £1.00
Less than £25.00 fee £0.75
More than £25.00 fee waived

Is this reasonable or do you think I should change to a Minimum Buy, however
I would have to set the Minimum Buy high as I don't really wish to pack and
post small order amounts - I don't believe buyers take into account the fees
we get charged from a sale and my costs like packing, labels, fuel in my car
to drive and post it etc.

Thanks in advance Dave

This is really all about how you want to do business tbh.
Personally I avoid all stores that have a handling fee whenever possible. For
my store that is built into the sale price of the items.

I understand minimum buys and why stores use them, even though I do not. As with
handling fees I would rather not use a store with a minimum buy but it doesn't
bother me that much.

As I said at the start this is really down to how you want to do business. If
you prefer fewer orders with higher value then minimum buy works for you. This
is only one man's opinion

to encourage business you want to keep things simple. I only outline a few of
the most common postage options and refer to each as a Shipping/Handling fee
rather than just calling it Shipping as this can give buyers the opportunity
to question why your charging more than actual postage?

My 2nd class shipping/handling fee is £2.50 with actual postage costing me £1.55
but I rarely if ever receive any complaints but I also allow customers to cancel
if they are unhappy with the shipping/handling rates I charge

What I'm basically saying is that I find it best to just merge postage and
handling into one single charge so they don't have to try and work out what
they need to pay....

I have a clearly stated handling fee for orders below $10 US, but I do have enough
lots/pieces for a buyer to easily put together a $10 order if the so desire.

I put the handling fee in because I was getting too many multi-lot low value
orders.
