Customer asking for tracking I understand, especially with the winter delays.
And unless I slammed, I try to post tracking right away. (Bricklink is not my
main income).
Lately I have couple customers who ask for tracking, and, while I update it
next to the order, I also check and so far only one was "weird". The
rest show "delivered". Customer never gets back to me after I provide
the tracking saying "Oh it show delivered but I don't have it". No
they silent. To me it feels like they are hoping I don't have tracking so
they can get the money back and free stuff? AM I paranoid?

Yes.
If they ask for the tracking, give them, they have reasons (even if they're
stupid reasons, but you're not them so don't judge).

I really recommend adding tracking information by default (you can put it into
your Drive Thru message).

Ditto
on your orders received page, turn on the option to display the tracking column,
adjust your Drive Trough message to include the tracking number. The added advantage
is the tracking number is now attached to the BL order, so easy to find if there
is an issue.
My process: print labels in PirateShip, copy tracking numbers to BrickLink, at
the end of the day send out Drive Trough messages.
I occasionally get a request for tracking, I just send it again - don't overthink
it.

At the post office I take a picture of the package after postage stickers are
on it.
The tracking number is on it. If it folds over the edge sometimes 2 pix are
needed.
I then email the photo to buyer if they ask for tracking info.
Tracking #s can also now be found right on their Paypal.

I print labels through paypal (where payment originated) and rely on the email
sent to the buyer which includes the tracking number. The tracking number can
also be found by the buyer in the buyers paypal account quicker than asking a
seller for the tracking number.
