I kinda remember this one having an extra sticker. It was not totally uncommon
to toss in a few if there was extra space on the sheet.

It is in the inventory. The picture of the sticker sheet is clear. The counterparts
are listed. To keep notes on which stickers are not needed would be a huge job
for already catalogued sets. These are not really all that different to sprued
parts where pieces not necessary to build the sets are included in the main inventory
because they come packaged together.
If you want to know which stickers are used, you need to check the instructions,
just like for sprued and bagged parts.
I know, but often counterparts (stickers) are missing in the inventory. Especially
for older sets. It´s quite common, so I wanted to make sure I am not missing
