One challenge I’ve noticed with BrickLink is that selling is almost entirely
search-based. Buyers usually need to already know what LEGO set or part they’re
looking for and search it directly.
Right now, there isn’t really a way for sellers to:
• Promote items to buyers browsing casually
• Showcase inventory to people who aren’t actively searching
• Create momentum around rare, used, or unique items
Because of this, sales can feel much slower unless you’re listing very in-demand
items at the lowest price.
This is why features like live video auctions, promoted listings, or a discovery
feed could be helpful additions. They wouldn’t replace search — just complement
it — and could help sellers move inventory while giving buyers a more engaging
way to discover items.
Curious if others feel the same way. Do you rely mostly on search traffic, or
would you use promotion or live selling tools if BrickLink ever added them?
