Hi does I’m looking to start collecting Lego Star Wars stuff and wanted to know
if the magazine figures are worth collecting ??

I was moments ago updating and adding some things to inventory and have this
pile of books of Star Wars and Marvel stuff (not listed). I do have a number
of City/Ninjago/HP magazines. Which I do have listed.
Personally I don't like them. I see them more as someone trying to market
a book or magazine by using a Minifig. That only works if they are true exclusives
and not fake exclusives.
I also just literally tore out several minifigs from the "magazines"
and through the magazines into the recycle bin. Just to retain the figs.
The next pile was a number of "DK Lego" books with exclusive Vaders,
U-3PO's and the trusty Yoda.
I asked myself exactly the same question you asked yourself.
My answer is no they are not. The cost of the book opposed to the cost of the
Minifig just doesn't cut it for me, for the reasons above.
However, I will keep the DK Marvel & Star Wars books in minty condition because
I also suspect overtime my current opinion could change. But I think any real
financial benefit is a couple of years away.
That's my take on it. Throw the magazines in the bin, retain the books.
There will be a few people who won't agree with what I say. Then again they
are likely not sitting next to a couple of hundred books either.
