I think it would be good to have a button on the "Post feedback" page,
or perhaps even on the order-list, that with just one click can leave a positive
feedback (without any comment).
In most cases, people want to leave a positive feedback, but I have understood
by forum posts that perhaps a third of buyers don't leave any feedback at
all, which makes it take longer time for the reputation of new sellers to settle,
and makes the scores less accurate.
I think that making it a bit easier to leave a positive feedback could bring
down the number of buyers who don't do it a little. Now one have to click
"Post" in the order-list, mark "Positive", write something, click
"Preview" and then "Post" it. It's not that hard, but there
has to be a reason that so many buyers don't do it. And even if I always
leave a feedback anyway, this change would make it easier.
I don't think it is a problem that the feedback won't have any comment.
When I first started buying, I tried to fit various descriptions in the short
feedback field of what was good (e.g. "Nice parts, quick shipng, well pkgd"
but after some time I now usually just writes "Everything fine" (unless
there is something special worth mentioning) which doesn't add any more information
than a blank field. And when I look at sellers feedback, I think it is usually
just the few negative/neutral comments that is worth reading.
To leave neutral or negative feedback, I think a comment should be required,
and the steps kept as they are, one needs to think one more time before posting
those.
(This is for buyers, I am not a seller so I don't know how leaving feedback
works for them, perhaps something similar can be good there too.)
I think the biggest barrier to leaving feedback after an order is not necessarily
the process of leaving the feedback but logging in to do any order admin. When
I look at past orders, the ones where there is no feedback are also rarely marked
as complete.

Real sellers don't wait for the completed status (or any) to send a positive
feedback

That is not what I mean. I mean if the buyer has not left feedback there is a
good chance that they have also not marked as complete.

What I find particularly upsetting is sellers that don't leave feedback after
a positive transaction is completed, the buyer has made no special requests,
follows store policies, leaves positive feedback for the seller, and completes
the transaction.

I have it automated with BLS Manager, once I mark an order as shipped it will
leave positive feedback.

You can do this freely with an automation software like tinytask or AutoHotkey.
All this without having to pay and give your personnal and all business infos
(orders, clients...) to a website that could be either hacked (very possible
for a small company) or which will share those infos as written in their Policy
to:
"With Service Providers:
For Business transfers:
With Affiliates:
With Business partners:
With other users:"
As a company here we can't use this kind of service which is described as
"AS IS without any responsability" (to simplify), when our Orders and
Buyers infos are fully OUR responsability. So in case they fail or disclose WE
would be responsable.
