The current description for the 704-2 Master Discovery Set reads "USA Fao
Schwarz Exclusive."
This is (again) inaccurate. It never appears in FAO Schwarz catalogs, FAO always
carried the 004 Master Builder Set(even listing it by name). The 704 Master Discovery
Set first released in late 1967 as a trial offer set(similar to the original
purpose of the 005 Discovery Set). I've attached the pamphlet cover below.
It released for retail in 1968, exclusive specifically to Allied Department Stores
(including Cain-Sloan, Discovery Playthings, Jacobsons, Bon Marche, Gibsons,
Marshall Fields, Polskys, and Pomeroys). I've attached the 1968 Discovery
Playthings catalog appearance as well as the 1968 Jacobsons clipping.
