Hello everyone,

I've just purchased a bulk lot of big sets from Star Wars and Technic series
- all from 2010-2020.
They came assembled and some are in pieces, but without instruction manuals.

I already listed minifigures from them. Pieces are in great condition, with applied
stickers, no playwear.

How would you go about selling these? They're mostly UCS and larger sets
- starships etc.
It's about 30 sets.

Should I try to complete them and list them as sets models? Do they sell like
this?
Or should I part them out for people who are trying to complete their own?

Any tips much appreciated

Thank you,
Daniel

You can do it either way, both work. However they will still be incomplete if
you sell the minifigures separately.

That's understandable of course, I meant what would sell better (faster)
- just ships/models w/o minifigures or parted out?

Hi,

You can see the prices in the price guide. The cheap ones are without the minifigs.
You have to check them and complete them.
If you part it out, you will stay with a lot of parts.

If you sell them complete it will be most effective, but also some work to check
and complete the sets.

Always difficult. Maybe you can sell the sets (without the minifigs) on ebay
or another marketplace.
That is the quickest way to earn some money.

Kind regards,
Tim

It depends on pricing. Selling as sets (with at least the main builds complete)
will be faster than selling every piece after parting out and definitely less
work. But it will depend on pricing, especially if it is missing valuable minifigures.

Thank you,

I do this a LOT... Buy a built set, post figurines first, verify integrity of
said set, if parts are missing I might order them and fullfil the parts list.
I advertise the set as COMPLETE BUILD ONLY in the text field, I tag it as INCOMPLETE
in the BL inventory of course. Usually I make an EXTENDED DESCRIPTION where I
offer the buyer to have the set shipped BUILT ALREADY or BROKEN DOWN. This is
to save me time on big sets.

In said EXT DESC I mention the figurines are available in my store and the buyer
can ask for a bundle discount if they wish to aquire said figurines.

I prefer to post those BUILT SETS at a low price (compared to other ads with
INCOMPLETE status) so I insure i can get flow of money back into my hands to
keep aquiring more sets. I am usually very patient with my figurines tho.

This said, I also mark a set say (just an example) 100$ but right away I tag
it with 10% OFF so that when people look at my store and hit the "show items
on sale" they get to see the few sets I want to move quickly (I call this
FLOW).

I learned this trick thru research and it does work pretty well so far. You store
should ALWAYS have items on SALE. I find 10% to be perfect for me.

Am still learning of course, if I breakdown a set, I now take pictures of all
the parts neetly placed on a surface once am done, this way I can provide the
BUYER with proof the set is complete and avoid potential situations like them
claiming its missing 2 parts or something like that.

If selling sets built, adding to TOS or EXT DESC that sets are considered 99%
complete might be a good thing to do to keep yourself in the clear should there
be complaints.

Also, I think it's important to ad: Ask for pictures in the description.

Anyhow, hope this helps a bit.

Kindly,
