Don't beat yourself over it, silence is what Bricklink does best.

It's not a hack if you update your software and leaving gaping security holes.
True, especially if you did not, apparently, do any testing on said software
before deploying it to a production environment impacting millions of users.
Merging accounts is hard work from an IT perspective, there are just too many
things that can go wrong. One of the things you can do to limit the damage, is
test and then test again!
The executive that wanted their "LIVE Bricklink engagement" data on their
"Executive Dashboard" should be fired for causing this disruption and
breach.
There definitely was a malevolent breach, I started getting e-mails about login
attempts to my account yesterday, login attempts which I did not do myself, then
was prompted to change my password.

An issue, like mixing accounts and data?
You believe it's resolved?
My orders (and buyers) XML private data may be on the PC of someone else?
BrickStore is broken and I simply can't work without downloading orders,
creating and uploading lists.

Indeed I think per DSA they would need to report it, but from outside it seems
only happened to some users not everyone, could be that the system lagged and
the user IDs overflow or whatever to another one.
Probably they test this, but not with thousands of people at the same time.
What I would have done is prepare an account linking between BrickLink and LEGO
for a timeframe and when all or most of the accounts are linked then do a merge
test in a development environment, if it goes well then push to production the
merge maintenance, any accounts not linked would need to do what we did now,
but the most active users would have already done this and the system wouldn't
had suffered so.
BrickStore is broken and I simply can't work without downloading orders,

Direct download is broken, but xml import still works good, ease of use is the
problem not?

Nice for managing 20/50 orders placed for example, for sure.

Then I would suggest using BrickSync, just linked to the BrickLink store will
save a backup of the inventory after each sale (and after each change using blmaster
on/off commands), it will also save a bsx file of each order.

I can't guarantee that this external site/provider can secure our data and
in particular our clients ones.
As an European company, I could get responsible if they are hacked, or if they
decide to sell our data

Sylvain, I'm talking about BrickSync it is free and opensource, installed

Oh this one - Isn't this one the author died? I see you're maintaining
it. Thank you!
I thought it was only syncing. If it can make a bsx of shop and orders, that's
interesting. I'll have a look at it. Thanks Sergio.

The BrickLink Team
Big thanks to everyone on the BrickLink team for all the hard work on this! Definitely
glad to have a layer of MFA protecting my BrickLink account now, lol.
This might be either out-of-scope for the account integration feature or is something
handled by the team maintaining the LEGO IdP, but: Are there any plans to add
additional MFA options (alongside the existing email OTP) for a LEGO account
(e.g. TOTP via authenticator app) ?

It was only seller account that had that if I’m not mistaken. (Ps, is anyone
else continuously getting signed out? I’ve had to resignin like 3 time in the

I have had issues with having to accept cookies all the time since yesterday.
I have tried changing various security settings in Firedox but that didn't
seem to fix it. I just updated my cookie preference on https://www.v2.bricklink.com/en-us/cookies
and haven't had to accept cookies anymore. Not sure if that is the actual
reason it's working now or if it is just a coincidence and/or one of the
changes that I made to the security settings finally worked. But you could try
updating your cookie settings on that page and see if it stops showing you the
cookie overlay/popup all the time.

I was also having cookie issues yesterday having to close the cookies box with
every page load. I think part of the problem was that it wasn't saving cookies
properly and the page you link to was not working but was a dead link. I was
frequently checking what cookies I had and at one stage Firefox was reporting
I had over 100 bricklink cookies saved. So I guess it was saving a new cookie
every page refresh or every time I clicked save all, but didn't access them
correctly next time saving a new one each time.

Since today this is no longer working and I have to accept cookies again every

I hope more details will be forthcoming regarding the issues with the integration
process today. Rumors swirling around on various social media outlets are a bit
alarming, basically that some users were somehow getting logged into other peoples
accounts. If true, I think we deserve a bit more information, and if not quite
accurate, then false rumors need squashing.
There is a big discrepancy between the Account Integration FAQ page vs what
the updated Bricklink ToS states.
The page you've linked to for LEGO Account Integration FAQ's states:
"Starting after the integration on September 18th, you will be able to
create additional BrickLink accounts to meet your specific needs."
However, the updated Bricklink ToS states in section 1.3:
"You are limited to one (1) User account on this Site unless we have granted
you permission to have additional accounts, such permission being in our sole
discretion..."
Perhaps someone could clarify this?
Also, I wanted to point out that forcing sellers to change their Bricklink store
display names (when that change rolls out) could be very disruptive and problematic
for those of us that have worked hard and invested capital into developing their
branding and name recognition as a business. In our case for example, we have
our Ben's Brickstore name on business cards, other branded items like pens,
mugs, and hopefully shirts in the near future, as well as signs on our building
for our retail customers. Plus we've been using the Ben's Brickstore
name for over six years, so changing it would be impractical, expensive to rebrand,
and would confuse our customers.
If we were forced to change our Bricklink store display name, I don't think
we would change it anywhere else, so customers would be confused when they visit
our Bricklink page and see some other name. Plus customers might have a hard
time searching for our store name on Bricklink if it were to change.
Hopefully we will be able to keep our store display name ("BensBrickstore"
was approved for our LEGO nickname, though we had to request an appeal), but
even if our store name is okay, there will be a lot of other sellers that will
be impacted by this change, and I don't think Bricklink or TLG appreciates
how this could negatively affect those store's branding and name recognition.
Last question - lots of us are pretty disappointed with the limited amount of
choices for avatars, and the lack of an option for a custom avatar. Any chance
these will get updated with greater variety and/or a custom upload option in
the near future?

for those of us that have worked hard and invested capital into developing their
branding and name recognition as a business.

I've had the same avatar, an image I am the copyright holder of, for probably
20 years. Now the gazillion users of Bricklink all must choose from a couple
dozen stock images? Why the heck did they make that a thing? I hate it.

Gotta admit that I'm a bit nervous that I chose a chicken given the number
of chicken legs I'm seeing. I'm hoping that they are really parrot legs.
technically I thing it’s a turkey leg
Do you want to know something cool?!
The word turquoise dates to the 17th century and is derived from the French turquois,
meaning 'Turkish', because the mineral was first brought to Europe through
Turkey from mines in the historical Khorasan province of Iran (Persia) and Afghanistan
today.

I'm sure SylvainLS can make a Dark Turquoise Turkey leg for us...
The word turquoise dates to the 17th century and is derived from the French turquois,
meaning 'Turkish',
13th century, and Ancient français. Nowadays we say turc (turque) (/tyRk/).
(Need spectacles? Took XIII for XVII? )
Also, it’s turquoise because pierre (stone) is feminine, so the
adjective is feminine too. First, “pierre turquoise” (Turkish stone), then we
dropped the “pierre.”

Ah, two errors:
1. Wiktionary is a very good source. Part of Wikimedia / Wikipedia.
2. Reading comprehension: The article says that the English word Turquoise
dates from the 17th. The notion of “Old French” spans from the 8th century to
the middle of the 14th century. After that there’s “Middle French,” until 1611
(the 17e century). So, for a word to be “derived from the Old French turquois,”
it needs to have existed before the 15th century. Also, you don’t import a word
that’s 300 years old, either you import the current word (17th century French
turquoise for the stone) or you imported it 300 years prior.

Just on another note when rolling out big updates like this I wonder whether
it might be better to do so while most of Europe and much of the States sleeps
so there is a more staggered number of people signing in and merging accounts
at the same time only whilst I appreciate the main issues may not be related
I suspect the sheer volumes of users all trying to do the same thing at the same
time doesn't exactly help with things going smoothly...

Thats the thing though on a ‘One off’ occasion like this where a big update is
being rolled out it shouldn't be too difficult to change the staffing hours
to ensure smooth running. Besides not everyone needs to be on hand just the core

It’s not about creating an account on LEGO.com to buy on LEGO.com, it’s about
creating an account on identity.lego.com to log in into bricklink.com.
All LEGO accounts (lego.com, ideas.lego.com, kids.lego.com, Play app, Building
Instruction app, games…) use the same login system, identity.lego.com. BrickLink
uses it too now.

Appreciate all your hard work - thank you!
That said, it is hard to believe that the BL team would think it's remotely
acceptable to state "we experienced an issue" and NOT SAY WHAT THE ISSUE
WAS. The issue has obviously become known to everyone, and it was a mind-bogglingly
serious one: some users lost access to their own private account info and instead
were given access to other users' private account info!
Now that everyone knows, but had to find out from other users, your lack of disclosure
is not only bad practice, it's also insulting. And given what the actual
problem was, it's also malfeasance.
Of course I understand BL should never disclose the technical details of an issue,
because such a disclosure could be bad for future site security. But simply acknowledging
that "some users inadvertently were logged into the wrong account" -
not to mention a brief APOLOGY, are essential.
This is basic 101 stuff. I know this is not your personal decision, but on a
collective basis I have to say, for goodness' sake, what on earth were you
all thinking?
For legal reasons I don't expect them to disclose anything further.

When personal data has been leaked*, a company has a legal obligation to inform

*I'm not following who has seen who's account / personal details, but
if this indeed was an issue, the affected individuals must be informed.

I don't appreciate the hard work. I don't appreciate anything they've
done to Bricklink. They've only made the site worse since they bought it.
I wish they'd sell it back to the community and bugger off.
Apart from all of the numerous bugs that are being reported, I've just noted
that when I now login to Bricklink it's also automatically
logging me into my LEGO account without any warning? Surely that's not a
good idea from a security perspective (especially as the system doesn't log
me off when I close down the browser/laptop).
Please can this be fixed (or can users be given the opportunity to login in to
either/both systems on that page)?
I have to say the changes aren't an improvement - I don't see why I have
to repeatly enter my birth Year, and accept cookies and that annoying compliance
pop-up!
I'm a little worried that existing, and new, users will be deterred by the
complexity of the new login process - it's certainly not user-friendly platform
at the moment....

I am all for safety but this is a little over the top, having so many extra steps

To be honest, I'm not sure your post is overly appropriate in the circumstances....
You seem to have just been determined to impose this change on all users without
any explanation, and ignored repeated requests for updates and clarifications
(e.g. what will happen to store names). There's been clearly some major
issues with the release and we're all still having major issues with it 24
hours later.
The login process is ridiculous and I can see that it will deter a lot of current,
and potentially new customers. When I purchased on Amazon, I don't need
to confirm my age, repeatedly accept cookies or navigate any 2-step authentication
process so why is it necessary for LEGO to require this?

Same here. I don't remember any Yeah and Woohoo about this, only complains

You have 72hours after having become aware of it. It was in the forum posts
50h ago. Tick--tock…
I have been struggling to use the site. Until just a moment ago when I finally
received the accept cookie popup, I was stuck without a vertical scroll bar (&
touch screen wouldn't work either). That meant I barely had any functionality,
including posting this message or viewing the catalog, etc.
I went through the whole login process multiple times for the integration.

On September 18, 2025, a technical issue took place on BrickLink during a scheduled
system update that affected a very small group of active users. Some basic contact
information was potentially made available to another user active at that time.
Thanks to our community and the oversight of the BrickLink team, we were able
to quickly remediate and fix the technical issue. Since then, no further issues
have been identified.
