For the 10179 the dimensions for the model is said to be 64.39 x 47.63
x 19.69 cm. The same for the Original Box Entry. But when I check different
other sites they write that the model is about 84 x 56 x 21 cm. Shouldn´t the
model dimensions on BL be the bigger ones?
For the 75192 the dimensions for the model is said to be 54 x 45 x 39
cm. The same for the Original Box Entry. But when I check lego.com they
write that the model measures over 8” (21cm) high, 33” (84cm) long and 23” (60cm)
wide. Shouldn´t the model dimensions on BL be the that one?
Maybe someone with the sets built can shed a light on my questions ?

For sets, the dimensions in the catalogue are those of the box, on purpose.
That’s historical I guess, as the field “packing dimensions” didn’t exist before.
In any case, now it’s the policy: https://www.bricklink.com/help.asp?helpID=2510

Thanks for the info & link to the policy !
Well it makes sense for calculating shipping costs, so I agree with that. It
just a shame that the larger sets where the model is perfect to have on display
don´t have a field for the dimension when it´s built. Both for the size you need
to have on a shelf/table but also for making a display case. But those cases
are easy to find online so I guess it´s not worth the trouble to add yet another
field!
