Hey, so I just sold an item with a weight of 1,000 grams and it was listed that
way. It should have charged the consumer 16.99 but instead it charged them 5.49,
as part of the lowest tear as if the item didn't weigh anything. Now i loose
about 15 bucks in shipping because the system wasn't correct.
Can someone help me out how to prevent this from happening in the future?

sounds like your shipping table is setup incorrectly. did you use a premade one
or did you make your own? premade should not be used as they are not updated

I tried two dummy orders for 950g and 1150g and both were 16.99 in the cart with
only one shipping option.

Thats that should be normal, but I think I might have edited the weight myself.
What is really confusing is how its in grams, then the shipping is in oz. They
should keep to one system because I am sure im not the only one confused on this.

You were the one who set up your shipping tables and shipping methods. What do
they say?

I have my own time table. I think I might have messed up the weight myself but
I have no idea. One thing I did notice, I just raised all my prices for shipping,
and I still I am subsidizing some of the shipping costs. Not only have shipping
prices sky-rocketed, but also taxes placed has cut sales. Not sure if anyone
else noticed but yeah.

Where did you 'mess up the weight' yourself?
What does your order say?
Have you added margins to account for the weight of packaging?
Everyone pays the same taxes so, no, I don't think they have affected sales.

Funny... just realized I have a price error and owe my last buyer a refund.
