So I put out that my local Post office was only having mail picked up once a
day from now on at 8:45AM, right before they open. I talked to my other guy
at the post office where I work 35 miles away and he said "yeah, it's
true, you are going to see the slow death of the USPS". Today I went to
another post office and dropped off my package at 11AM. I asked the clerk what
time they were picking up and he said "not until Monday". My guy, at
my work post office also told me the contractor that handles the mail has been
doing it for like 50 years and they just laid off 70 percent of their work force.
He said they got an email on May 11 saying thank you you're contract will
not be renewed. So, Buyers and Sellers, expect your packages to take longer.
He said the biggest screwing would be the people choosing Priority and Express
as those are also stuck. I will say this, at all 3 post office's that I
visited you could feel the frustration on the employees, they were probably more
pissed than I was. Anyways, sorry for the bad news.
