There is a psychotic member who is sending me 100+ messages per day (been gonig
on for a week) demanding I remove an NSS I filed when he didn't send me the
item.
I have reached out to bricklink multiple times without resolution.
To be honest, I would remove the NSS. No reporting feature of any website is
worth the grief they're putting you through.
Why? If the seller didn't send the part the buyer payed for he has every
right to start the NSS. If the seller reacts like this he should be removed from
the website because that is not behavior that should be tolerated (it's most
likely even harassment!)
Now we do not know the full story. Like did the buyer contact the seller about
the missing part before he started the NSS. Was the part rare/expensive or maybe
the whole reason for the order? Did the buyer say something to provoke this kind
of behavior?
I messaged him regarding the items. The total value (shipping included was $19)
He ignored me, so I opened an NSS
He then immediately purchased 4 items off of me, left 4 negative feedbacks and
opened 4 claims for NSS against me. (All within 2 minutes)
Through Bricklink he sent me threats, harassing messages, racial slurs and described
my house (guessing he used google maps to identify my house)
Bricklink got involved and closed the cases (obviously refunding him since they
weren't legit purchases which I agree with) removed the feedbacks he left
for me (since they were obviously fake) and even suspended his store due to his
actions.
He has now gone on a rampage demanding I remove the NSS from him and to date
has sent me over 1,300 messages.
Er, not really because you quoted your previous version
(There’s also “[t]his includes replacing offensive words with alternate letters
or characters” but it’s hard to say it applies when there’s only asterisks.
And the first word itself constitutes swearing for some….)

Some people really should not be in a customer orientated business.
Keep reporting the member and do not remove the NSS. As soon as you can complete
the NSS and start a claim on PayPal. I would even consider filing a complaint
with the police (although I doubt they can do anything about it)

Right.
(it's most
likely even harassment!)
Harassment can start at 3 (or even 2) messages.
Now we do not know the full story. […]
We don’t need to. There’s absolutely no excuse to harass someone.
There’s an NSS, if the seller wants to defend against it, they should talk to
BL, not harass the buyer.

IOW, the size of the skirt is irrelevant.
I agreed harrassment is never ok and should be punished. I should have worded
it differently.

Why? Mostly because I have very little faith in Bricklink to manage situations
like this. That's just my belief. The other day there was a discussion about
a new store that had hundreds of sales and little to no feedback. I posted a
link to another platform where that seller sold me some sets, and never shipped
them. The purpose of posting the link was to alert others to the seller's
negative feedback on that other platform. Bricklink's moderator removed my
message because posting links was against the terms of service. Okay, sure. But,
in doing so, they made the platform less safe for others, because others would
have no way of verifying what I said was true, that the seller had a poor reputation
on other corners of the internet.
So, in general, I'd say my impression is that I'd be more inclined to
just roll over and get abused, cause that's what Bricklink customer service
feels like to me, in general. But, that's just, like, my opinion, man.

Why?
Because 1300 BrickLink messages is easy for BrickLink to verify, and yes, for
this harassment the shop should be closed AT LEAST temporary while the HOT discussion
with BrickLink.

If he’s sending BrickLink messages, BL should act!
But if he’s sending emails… well, BL can’t really prevent him from doing it,
but they should do something on the website anyway (remove seller priviledges
would be a start)!
This definitely tiptoes in to some mental issue territory. I haven't read
the DSM IV since grad school, and we're already on the cusp of the DSM VI
coming out so I'm super curious to see where this lands.
I send about 100 emails a day to people through BL and Ebay on top of the message
on reddit, facebook and instagram WHILE PULLING orders and parting out sets and
that's already my limit. It's like this cat is hyper fixated on you.
"Insane" State of mind that precludes normal perceptions and behavior;
serious mental illness. "Psychotic" severe mental illness diagnosis,
not often lightly reached.
I get your use of what are far too commonly used terms as pejoratives. Know that
there are plenty of other very strong adjectives that could be used as effectively
to express that understandable level of frustration, which don't involve
serious mental illnesses.
"doing the same thing over and over again and expecting a different result"
An often misattribute to Einstein, quote. And again a misused pejorative. Very
good though. Maybe expand your thought processes just a bit beyond where
you're currently positioned
If I understand you correctly, you are calling me insane.
The antithesis of the meaning in my original post. How could I possibly, is the
whole point Though somehow, I get the feeling this is all going over your head,
so I do nonetheless understand your antagonism.
I have reported your comment as harassment.
Take care,
When you wrote, "thank you for exemplifying the whole "mental illness"
emphasis of my post" I literally understood that to mean, "thank you
for exemplifying ... mental illness... [specifically insanity]."
I don't ask this question to be rude. But, I am wondering if English is your
primary language? If English is not your primary language, perhaps this explains
why there is a misunderstanding occurring between the two of us. Let me know.
Thanks,

Thanks,
Not rude at all.
Though besides the stoplisting, you may wanna ignore my inputs here too. No need
to anywhere else, it’s only here I’ve ever expressed myself online. Feature for
that: https://www.bricklink.com/messageFilter.asp Truly no hard feelings for
doing so
Much of what I post is from more of a self-therapy effort, than for me an interest
in the actual topic. Although this particular subject does hit close to home.
Kinda difficult to explain. But I’ve used this platform to try and slow down
one of the more frustrating effects of the Brain Trauma I’ve been managing for
many years, which manifests as a kind of word blindness. Been able to maintain
a degree of reading ability over those years and that has helped a good deal.
But posting requires me to formulate my untidy and somewhat jumbled thoughts
into a more coherent structure, in order to be understood. On a good day I’m
able to get both the grammar and vocabulary right. Most days it’s one and not
both, as the effort takes my utmost concentration to overcome what is a very
frustrating inability. And yeah, it can bring the grump out of me too
It’s a losing battle for maintaining my cognitive abilities, made worst by having
opted out of my meds pre physical therapy. Simply looking nowadays to slow the
regression best I can and on my own. Regular and vigorous outdoor workouts, eating
right, select cognitive exercises and yeah, posting The interaction and sociability
of many here is nice too. So, my ability to exchange thoughts through speech
was never affected (though, still do better face-to-face in that regard) and
I remain able to enjoy reading to a lesser degree. It’s in expressing my thoughts
in written words, that is my Mt Everest then and still.
I’d like to add, as I’ve always felt a bit sheepish about using the forum in
this way, I offer help where and when I can and supply some fun now n’then vis-à-vis
contests. In the spirit of giving back? Maybe, or just feel I shouldn’t get a
free ride. As to your question: though bilingual, English is my native language.
Sadly, can’t blame that...
I understand. Thank you for the explanation. I have nothing but compassion towards
people who are affected by injuries.
And, now, that I understand a little more about you, I believe I can correctly
comprehend your original point of view, which is that people need to be kind
towards one another and not mean-spirited, and that we should all be thoughtful
and cautious when using labels like "insane" and "mentally ill"
because we are all human and we need to care about one another, no matter what
affliction a person may be enduring. In my view, the person who was sending 1,500
messages to the person who NSS'd them is not insane. They are not deranged.
They do, however, very likely have obsessive compulsive tendencies, which are
a form of anxiety... which is treatable. I agree with you, though, that person
is likely not insane.
Thanks for commenting and bringing out the best of me now. I hope we can be friends?
Also, I am quite sure you are misusing the word antithesis. Specifically, an
antithesis is figure of speech that contrasts two opposing ideas within a balanced
grammatical structure, often to emphasize their difference. For example, the
phrase "it was the best of times, it was the worst of times," illustrates
this concept by juxtaposing two contradictory ideas.

I have put him on my block list as well
What else can I do?
Today he has sent over 200 messages
Was this seller "tilard" then, who is unregistered now?
