The long and short of it: at minimum can a text input box be added for reporting
a store? Maybe a reason of "preventative action" with the text
box as well?
Currently the best we can do is click "something else" at the
bottom but that forces you to pick something from the drop down menu and none
of the reasons are applicable except maybe the bottom one "A section of
the store not listed above". I think that menu should have "potential
scammer" listed as an option as well, but the admins would still need
to know what we're seeing and why we're concerned. Even when you file
an anonymous tip with the police you can't just say "hey, this person
is breaking the law" without telling them what crime they might be committing.
You can stop here or continue reading for the reason I'm bringing this
up.
A new store popped up on my radar a week ago.
This person is not a scammer per se, but they're exhibiting a lot of similar
patterns that eventually get scammers' accounts suspended. I had a lengthy
conversation about this store with another user who told me a lot of private
details and the consensus is that this is just someone who is in WAY over
their heads and wasn't prepared for their business to boom.
This isn't actionable proof of anything bad going on and it's just hearsay
and conjecture - until feedbacks finally start to come in.
At the moment their feedback is actually still at 0% with 327 orders, so it's
just a store that's having an incredible opening two weeks and nobody has
left feedback yet right? Wrong. Two seller feedbacks are now (finally) in and
they are one neutral and one negative. But the range scale BL uses is for 0-100
not -100 to 100, so it will be perpetually locked at 0% until one positive is
added which doesn't do enough to warn any other buyers.
I sent the store a message recommending they temporarily close their store and
use the reason "I'm catching up on orders" but I haven't received
a response yet.
And I know I know, "Just stay in your lane narc and focus on your own business".
Trust me, I get it. I've been struggling over how to write this for over
a week because it was all just circumstantial until the feedback started. They
aren't technically doing anything wrong, except for giving 327 (328 now)
buyers major headaches.

The hell with people who say "stay in your own lane". I want every store
to be great. It only takes one bad purchase for someone to run back to eBay.
They make me look bad, you and everyone else.
As for this store, doesn't look like a good start at all. Even with 50%-60%
that leave feedback and still not showing one.
They need to drink a Red Bull or twenty

It's funny you mention that. They were suspended/expelled from ebay so they
aren't going back there any time soon.
I mean the buyers. It isn't easy getting people to try a new site.
Did they have NSS on eBay?
(NOTE: To be clear, I'm not on a witch hunt, I'm just trying to figure
out a way to bring this stuff to BL's attention before the situation completely
gets out of hand. Stores are closed all the time for "preventative action"
and this falls in to that category. On BL they're now at 0 Positive, 1 negative
and 3 neutrals with one removed.)
No I know. Before I get in to it, remember, the ebay account was opened on Sept
23, 2024 with several hundred orders so same situation as here. The most common
things mentioned are incredibly long delays in shipping the items (they state
two day shipping here).
14 NEGATIVES are for:
- shipping either new or used completed sets (it doesn't specify) that were
partially built and missing 68 pieces. Shipped half of the missing pieces and
stopped communication.
- Communicated to buyer that they were Out of parts so sent something different
that in their opinion would work.
- NSS and told the buyer they were leaving ebay anyway so repercussions
didn't matter.
- NSS
- NSS but refunded
- NSS
- NSS
- Sold used incomplete as new.
- There are six others where the feedbacks are just generic "avoid this store"
and obscenities.
18 Neutrals;
- shipped a box of loose parts with no instructions on how to build.
- Set arrived late and incomplete, agreed to return.
- Set missing bags
- Sold items without having them in hand, after weeks, finally refunded.
- Mixed two used sets in one box loosely with no instructions.
- NSS with refund
- tracking number created, two weeks not shipped. cancelled and refunded with
no communication.

So your suggestion, put more succinctly to solicit votes, is what exactly?
Looks like they got a positive finally which bumped them from 0% to 20% and that
might have caused an automatic closure? Dunno. Either way. Now that things
have finally corrected themselves, here's the store: https://www.bricklink.com/feedback.asp?u=TheJangoBrick

The other ones doesn't seem so abnormal; I mean, I didn't check every
price one by one, and I don't know them. Anyway: report the lots, or the
shop, you can do it if you feel it's a scam.

I did not - yet. They're doing more work this time for sure but there are
always those tell tale signs that give it all away.

Because it's not the lot thats a scam, it's the entire store. But to
report the store, "scammer" isn't an option.
