So I placed a rather larger order back in early December from a selling in Italy
(I'm in Canada). The order did arrive about 6 weeks later despite his claims
it would only take 8 days. I don't care about that, Canada post sucks at
the best of time, and they had just been on strike for some time.

Anyway, I get the order, and start going through it and there is one part missing.

So I contact the guy telling him about the missing part. Asking if maybe he
miscounted and that he still had it.

I get that he's in Italy so probably English in not the fist language, but
it took a good long while for him to respond and he said it didn't matter
if he had still had it there would be a refund.

So I responded saying a refund would be fine. That was like 3 weeks ago.
As near as I can tell he has not read my message or the follow up I sent him
a week ago.

The piece was like 0.31 Euros so it less than 50 cents Canadian, so if I don't
get it back not the end of the world, but its the lack of communication that
is bugging me.

If it was you would you start a complaint or just let it go?

Was the rest of the order a good opportunity (cheap price, rare parts, nice quality...)?

What's missing compared to the whole order? $0.50 on $3 is much, but on $200
it's few.

Is it worth the time you'd spend complaining, and if starting an NSS the
guy will refund the part but you may get a Negative in return?

Buyers shouldn't matter getting Negatives - especially when having such a
FB Profile as yours; as a seller I never have a look at a 200+ FB buyer profile,
and wouldn't care if you've got 1 or a couple of them...

In short, you've to balance all this.

But one thing's sure, you could put this shop on your Least favs list and
simply don't go back there.

It was a fairly large order, not $200 but big enough. I only bought from him
due to the fact he had a large number of hard to find parts that I needed to
complete some classic space sets I found in a thrift store. I normally buy
only from within Canada due to the high shipping costs of internal stores, but
his was relatively decent.

Thanks for the input, the hassle of starting a complaint is probably not worth
the bother.

In this specific case, probably, yes.

But don't hesitate to send a couple messages in the Order from time to time
until you get a reply. It's not harassment when you ask for something due
to you.

And he sent the refund. Not sure he saw this post or total coincidence. Thanks
for the input.
