I own this set, 2 of these parts are required to hold the shields in place.

I don't see any evidence that this set came with two of these parts. In the
instructions, the second shield is hold by a minifigure:

Or do you have a different version of the instructions than the one shown here?

Apologies, I believe I have made a mistake here. Please disregard my request,
I apologise for wasting your time. I'm going to research this a bit more
just in case my instructions are different (unlikely) but I believe I have made
a mistake. I will be more vigilant in the future.
