I was hoping for some assistance from someone else who has this set in there
inventory or who has previous opened and built this set.

Bricklink says this set weighs 289gms, my set weighs 294 gms. Can someone confirm
the weight of this set please.

I recently purchased the set (not on bricklink) and received it today. Like most
lego you can hear the distinct sounds of bags inside. To me my set sounds like
it could be full of walnuts.

If I have been duped that's fine I can live with this. What I can't live
with is opening it only to find I have destroyed an otherwise new sealed set
in perfect condition.

Or god help me imagine if I on sold this on bricklink and it was full of walnuts?

so can someone please give me some feedback on the weight of their set and what
its sounds like when they shake it......or if someone has actually opened it.

I did search social media for an unboxing, but there was not one actually opening
a box on youtube..

Thanks
Steve

I've seen that some people open the boxes, remove the parts, then fill the
bags with noodles. So I would check it out.

Well I have 4 of them in this shipment and consider them someone rarer than other
SW sets. I don't want to tear one open unless I have to and destroy hundreds
of dollars. Although the entire shipment is still in the 3 figure range, not
4 figures. hmmmmm

Yes I have seen those nightmare vids of beans and noodles in boxes. Hence my
apprehensions here.

You're talking about a sealed Set?

There's no way you'll get an exact weight; fabrication tolerances and
humidity only may make its weight vary of 5 or 10% - for the same Set.

In other words, I'm sure a 5g difference can't mean anything.

I agree with you, on a different set of scales it weighed 291gms.

OMG these boxes sound horrible when I give them a gentle shake. Or lack of bags
making noises inside a box

Seems there are big parts in that set.  They may be loose in the box.

I saw that too. A girlfriend of mine around the corner is a vet, she is going
to xray/scan the shipment for me.

Lego is very obviously lego when this is done, I did it on my 10123 before I
purchased it a couple of years ago. So she also knows I'm a lego nutjob.

I am not prepared to risk my reputation to on sell someone walnuts or pasta.

I also agree with you about the big parts. But in the thousands of sets that
have gone through my hands or what I own I have not experienced this before except
for a few BDP sets.

Sweet, that would be great if you ever came across a sealed Mr gold!

I can confirm you are close to the truth. There is clearly the lego parts in
the boxes consistent with what should be in there.

A friend of mine just facetimed me and we had a laugh at the sound of the boxes
they indeed do sound like a box full of walnuts not lego.

I can sell them with confidence now

Seems somehow wrong to me to shake those boxes.
Would you shake a bottle of fine wine?
I wouldn’t, and I don’t care for wine.

lol its not like shaken baby syndrome.

Its more like a gentle rattle to hear some bags inside, then I also weigh them
unless its a trusted seller I am receiving from.

I recently purchased the set (not on bricklink) and received it today. Like most

Or god help me imagine if I on sold this on bricklink and it was full of walnuts?

so can someone please give me some feedback on the weight of their set and what

I did search social media for an unboxing, but there was not one actually opening

Very intriguing, ScubaSteve! Think the answer lies with this item in the set

See what I did there

Yeah okay, I'm a little ashamed... But don't let your scuba tank gas

Btw, really dig walnuts, so might not mind either way

LMAO! well people part sets for parts and figs.

What we know today in regards sets we wish we knew yesterday. I have 5 new sw1005
from parts 5 x 71588 4 years ago when I bought some damaged boxes from a store
on the way home during covid.

I would never have done that knowing what I know now. Truth is I didn't even
know I had them, I parted, didn't assemble and bagged and only realized when
I was looking for something for nubs months ago.

Would you have done that to a 7255 for a Obiwan today. I think not.

So no gas leak here except I'm the fool for parting sets 4 years ago when
IO am not even a parts seller.

Thanks
Steve

I need to know how many feet/meters you are above sea level. Did you weigh it
at night or during the day and also, the room temperature.
Then I can tell you if it's Lego or walnuts.

Fortunately imagining technology does not rely on altitude. I was able to confirm
the contents of all 4 sets.
