First of all I think it's concerning Bricklink doesn't provide an option
to report and blocker a user nor is the support to report an account. I gues
the platform didn't learn from their past....

apparently this is not available when the user does not have feedback.
to other way to do it is to scroll to the bootom a any page and click on problem
center -- Report member

That only works when the account has feedback. If it has no feedback the button
isn't there.

If it was easy, or easy to find, if wouldn't have mande this post obviously
and I stand by my opinion that it's a huge concern on a big marketplace owned
by one of the biggest toy companies in the world which has a history with hacks
and scams as well. Fix this to protect your honest visitors!
And in my honest opinion, I did noticed about it in captions to not click the
link, by exposing the link people have a reference how a fake link looks like.
I do understand that not everybody is willing to read a whole post but by keeping
information behind you won't educate them either.
Anyhow here's some of my steps to check for red flags in private messagages.
Before I start...If in doubt call the bank or payment provider to check their
opinion and look for their contact details on Google or any other trustworhty
search engine!
Any reasonable company anywhere in the world will never ever ask you to click
a link in any kind of message (email, chat, private message etc.) to make a payment
to verify your identiy.
Again...If you are in doubt contact the company and no, don't contact them
by their contact details you just received in the message. Actually go to their
official website by Googling it or looking it up else where from any respectable
source, and ask them what's up. They'll probably tell you its a scam.
If you like to dig deeper click the link, it ain't that bad if your pc and
browser are up to date and check their certificate and the source code of their
page. For example on this scam the certificate was handed out just a couple of
days prior to the message and was expiring already within the next two months.
There is no legit payment provider in the world which such sketchy certificates
and probably all of them are signed on their own buisines name, this one was
authorized by Google, probably a free service like Let's encrypt.
Last but not least, the source code of the website looked like a bunch of copy
paste work. Loads and loads of code and the css and javascripts where in the
main source code. Any reasonable website will use some sort of framework where
this kind of code wouldn't be that easy visable on the main page. This scam
website was probaly ripped by just saving the html from the legit website made
some adjustments to steal your account details and upload it to a fake domain.
Oh and I almost forgot, I just googled the url and didn't find any information
about the domainname. Any payment provider would've hit up on any search
engine by just searching for their url.
But then again, if in doubt CALL the payment provider or bank you're dealing
with to check their opinion! Seriously, just call them.
