Is BL now harder to search and find pages now?? It's even hard to find the
page to post in the forum, lol. This seriously needs someone like me to fix
the site to make it user friendly! I'm here 18 years and helped build the
catalogue and I now can't find where to report a sellers listing mistake
from Complete to Incomplete!!!
Last year admin said there was a REPORT button in a storefront... WHERE???
There is a Report Seller button, but that doesn't lead to report their listing
mistake.
But it's so complicated and hard to find simple things that it's frustrating!
Can someone get me the link for reporting a seller who mislabelled a set incorrectly??
And I was going to change my store to start accepting USA buyers but that's
complicated as well... and I'm scared to allow this... But that's another
post, lol.
Thanks in advance for any help!

It looks like they did some very lazy programming in order to facilitate reporting
forum content rules, (related to DSA Perhaps) and in the completely messed up
the menu for reporting a problem with a listing.
If you go to the listing, and click on the listing, (view listing,) and then
click again, you will see a line "Report this Listing". Strangely, and
ridiculously, it will take you to the page for reporting content violations,
(offensive, harassing, etc). At the bottom of the list is the completely opaque
selection "Something Else" which brings up the menu for reporting incorrect
listings.
Please note a couple of further hilarious missteps in the process.
First: You will get a choice to "Return to Bricklink". You might think
this will return you to your original page, but it doesn't.
Second: You will be thanked for reporting inappropriate content. (Of course you
didn't do that, you reported a listing mistake)
Third: You will receive a spam email (that looks like it was created by a kid
in high school) confirming you reported "content" The email will do nothing
except verify receipt of your report, and promise you that there will be a review.
Fourth: After day or so, you'll get another spam email to let you know your
report was reviewed, and perhaps some action taken on it.
This is supposed to be an "improvement" on the old reporting system,
but mostly, it makes the whole process for reporting items for sale invisible,
and adds all sorts of extra clicks and unnecessary processes to what was once
fairly simple. I don't buy the argument that these changes are necessary
to meet DSA standards, because the rules for what constitutes a complete set,
or a new minifig, or a true custom, are completely internal to Bricklink. No
one is being harassed by an incorrectly listed set, and no one has been scammed,
and no one has been defrauded, it's not offensive and it doesn't pose
a risk to anyone - it is just an incorrect listing that admin needs to remove.
Thank you for your diligence in trying to be a responsible community member and
help keep the sales listings, tidy. Unfortunately, Brickink's system changes
seem to be working against you.

I don't think they are currently removing infringing items any way. I reported
a lot of incomplete minifigurres as well as "like new" used figures before
the reporting change was brought in. They are all still available.
So I guess if any sellers have infringing items, now is the time to list them!

I think with the new system of "review" they don't have time to actually
remove improper listings that get reported. Someone went the easy route on this,
and now everything is broken.

I've seen a few infringing items removed in the past month or so

I think they have got their act together in the past few months.

They will investigate and remove infringing items. It may take a couple of days,
but they definitely will be removed, if they in fact infringe.
The only problem with this logic is for me 'report item' implies catalog
item, I'm just now trying to figure out how to, 'report listing'
which seems like a better description of the problem I'm facing and the help
pages are giving me no help, so here i am in the forums trying to figure out
what used to be easy.

There’s a section “Listing Reports” in the help page linked by 1001.
To report an item in a store, you need to click on the (image of the) item and
then there’s a link.
Also, as far as I know, you can’t “report” an item in the catalogue; the catalogue
is already curated. Unless you’re talking about asking for changes / “reporting
an error” (typo, miscategorisation…) but that’s not the same “reporting” and
there’s forms and forum topics for that.

Who would think the answer about how to report a used item that is listed as
new, would be found in the help page that seems very specific to the EU? I think
this is where the confusion lies. The specific help page with the answer to a
common reporting task, has the title "EU DSA Reporting Guide". I would
bet that 99% of reporting is about listing errors, and 1% is about EU "safety",
but the entire EU reporting help page hides what a majority of people are trying
to find, which is how to report listing errors...
To summarize, I think it is a poorly titled help page since it is about more
than just EU DSA reporting.

I totally agree with that. Especially as there’s no new reasons to report anything
added by the DSA.
The DSA stipulates HOW reporting should be done (possible, visible, transparent,
and appealable).
The WHAT is not new and was already included in BL’s ToS (even prior to TLG).
Bricklink succeeds in its ongoing quest to make its website ever more opaque
and ever more difficult to navigate.
I have been told by programmers that fixing the site is basically impossible.
It’s just too convoluted and messed up.
I guess Lego keeps it for data and the BDP cash cow.
