Does anyone have a possible head variant for 3626cpb0822 from the minifigure
Mirkwood Elf Chief
The head I have has the same eyebrows on the front and back rather than having
raised eyebrows on the happy pattern side.
Thanks for your help.

Hi and thanks for your message. I was trying to determine if this was a variant
or a misprint and if anyone had a similar head.
Thanks!

The admins always seem to know best for variants/what questions to ask

Does it have the wrong eyebrows on the other side too? It could be a misprint
where the eyebrows were printed on the wrong side but you'd also expect the
other side to be wrong too.

Alternatively it might be a fake. I have had some fakes in the past where the
prints are similar to lego but changed slightly. Did it come from a set or a
bulk buy?

Thanks for your response. The figure came from a sealed Barrel Escape set I purchased
when they were available in 2012 from TRU. I sold the other Mirkwood Elf Chiefs
I had and noticed the face print was different on this one. The eyebrows are
usually different on the happy side vs. the calm side but this head has the same
eyebrows on both sides of the head.
Thanks

That is strange as if it was a misprint, I would expect to see the wrong eyebrows
on both sides. I thought when they were printing these they print each colour
in order, spinning the head around as necessary. If a spin failed between the
previous print and starting the eyebrows, you'd expect the wrong ones to
be printed on one side, then when it is spun again, the second set of eyebrows
would be printed but again this would be the wrong side (for the second print
this time). Or if the spin failed between eyebrow prints, you'd see both
eyebrow prints on one side. To have both eyebrows with the same print suggests
the machine was set up incorrectly to print the same pattern twice, and so there
should be more of the wrong prints if many were made.

Thank you for your detailed response. I appreciate it. I agree there should be
more wrong prints out there and I am curious to see if others find a similar
wrong print.
Thanks!

Part No: 3626pb0822 Name: Minifigure, Head Dual Sided LotR Elf with Cheek Lines, Wrinkles, Calm / Happy Pattern
*
3626pb0822 Minifigure, Head Dual Sided LotR Elf with Cheek Lines, Wrinkles, Calm / Happy Pattern
Parts: Minifigure, Head

This part only has one known PCC so a variant is unlikely.

Interesting if it's a misprint though! I don't know enough about the
printing process they use to know if it's possible that a head could have
rotated between color applications. It's not something I have come across
before.
