No, they are kept as close to possible to the submissions. Otherwise there would
be no difference with Ideas sets (well, except the limited audience & quantity).
AFAIK, the biggest changes so far, were on the Wild West Train, to make it motorizable.
Otherwise, it’s just a few minor changes, for solidity, or because new parts
have become available, or to add/change the minifigures.
Oh, yes, there’s something that’s re-designed by LEGO designers: the stickers

I can clearly see an inspiration, but they're way different also.
And this one is far better, but that's personnal
Every creation on Earth is inspired by other one(s).
Plus isn't BrickLink supposed to check this? Don't you think they already
did?
