It feels weird to me that Tyco and then Hasbro and MegaBlocks (which Mattel already
owns) made bricks that were compatible with LEGO. Why not make their own system?
Maybe it is only weird to me because I started out with BrixBlocks that were
not.
I'd say that's about right... The LEGO Brand is currently one, if not
the most valuable brands in the world. It's 2023 evaluation is double that
of Mattel's market cap, and it's only increased some since.
As to market shares of the toy industry? Again, LEGO's 14% is nearly double
that of Mattel's 7.2%
Kreiz is no dummy though, he will have factored the up n'down sides to coattail-marketing
Interesting that it states that their product could be aimed at the older demographic
as I would have thought they are more likely to be dismissive of a clone product....
will have to be something pretty special and unique to turn the heads of those
loyal to the Lego brand
