So I purchased a set from a thrift store that said it was missing some pieces.
Upon opening There was all the factory numbered bags — unopened - except one
numbered bag (number 1). Is possible to buy the contents of “bag 1” of sets on
this forum or do I have to piece it out? The set is 10246.

occasionally you can find them but its very rare. best to look thru the instructions
and all of the parts used from bag 1 on a wanted list.

Check eBay. Loose bags are occasionally listed for sale.
