Hello.
I was wondering if someone can explain the difference between two sets - Dino
Attack and Dino 2010. Looks like both were releases in 2005. I have Dino Attack
sets and just learned today about Dino 2010.
Thank you

Dino Attack are from the US and have guns, rocket launchers

Dino 2010 are redesigned Dino Attack for Europe and have cages and nets instead
to be less violent

Dino 2010 features the same sets as Dino Attack, but modified to replace guns
and weaponry with things like grappling hooks and cages. The two Dino themes
were released on separate markets - Those I can speak to are Europe having Dino
2010, and North America having Dino Attack. I'm not entirely sure on the
story as to why it was handled this way by LEGO.

Some more info on this after discussing it some people who are more familiar
with the theme than myself:
- DINO ATTACK is typically stylized in all caps, Dino 2010 is not.
- DINO ATTACK was available in Japan and Australia as well, as was specified
on the LEGO webpage for the theme.
- Collectively, the two have been referred to as "Dino" when necessary
(the same brand that would later be used for the Dino line in 2012). This could
for instance be seen on the Products tab on LEGO.com, as well as the themes listing
for the sets on Customer Service.
- According to set designer Mark Stafford, DINO ATTACK was designed for the North
American market, while the Vikings theme was the counterpart for the European
market, but after an outcry, both themes were made available worldwide. However,
LEGO felt that DINO ATTACK was too violent for the European market, leading to
the adjustments seen with Dino 2010.
