Good day, have been rebuilding my classic space sets from 1978-1979. I was having
difficulty finding (in my own inventory) certain inventoried pieces on the set
list for set 483 (Alpha-1 Rocket Base or Rocket Launch Pad set 920 in the USA)...
but realized I may have a variant part to the instructions I was using.
The part is 3754 which is a 1x6x5 brick (blue in this case) with a rocket launcher
print on one of its large sides... like a TV screen.
The print differs from the one found in the Command Centre set 493 where a minifig
is floating in space.
I suspect this part replaces three (of the 9) 1x4x1 yellow translucide parts
used in the small control booth. And if that is the case, an adjustment to the
instructions would be required to compensate for the larger dimension of the
1x6x5 brick.
Any idea if this brick belongs in set 483/920 or elsewhere? Thanks. No rush.

Part 3754 is not in set

Set No: 483 Name: Alpha-1 Rocket Base
*
483-1 (Inv) Alpha-1 Rocket Base
163 Parts, 3 Minifigures, 1979
Sets: Space: Classic Space

or

Set No: 920 Name: Alpha-1 Rocket Base
*
920-2 (Inv) Alpha-1 Rocket Base
163 Parts, 3 Minifigures, 1979
Sets: Space: Classic Space

To see all sets which contains this part: https://www.bricklink.com/catalogItemIn.asp?P=3754&in=S

The Classic Space theme is very popular among LEGO fans and collectors and I
think I can say the inventories of those sets on BL are highly accurate

Hope this helps and have fun rebuilding these sets!

Set 6970-1 is the only one I see with a rocket print. I don't know much
about the theme but it was released in 1980.
