Changes are always hard to take, but here's my first impression...
The navigation bar is hard on the eyes. How about a dark mode option? or break
up the categories with some alternating colorful tabs?
The drop down for Community to get to the forum isn't very useful. It drops
down to the individual forum topic links instead of being able to scroll thru
as posts come in. If I go to my "My BL" page, I can click on "forum
messages" and get to what I'm used to seeing. Not the end of the world,
but imo just seems like new users will be even more confused by the forum.
It takes up way too much space, and the monthly maintenance used to remember
being dismissed. I frankly really prefer the old way except the Designer Program
is easier to find.

which looks more like “more modern” forums.

Well, people aren't new for long, so for all of the people that have been
here a long time and those who stick around a bit, there is no easy way to get
to the all-messages view anymore. I also have no way of knowing when new messages
are posted to the forum anymore. I used to have an indicator.

I grabbed this URL from my history, and for the time being, it seems to take
me where I want to go:
You can click on Administrative (or another topic) in the menu and then click
on “Discussion Forum.”
Two clicks but in case you don’t have a bookmark.
Well sure but it takes four clicks from the new nav bar to get to a Forum topic.
So 5 clicks to get to "Discussion Forum" whereas previously, it took
1-2 (depending on device used).

same, its how I always was able to respond fast but now I cant
OMG nooo who's idea was this? it's dreadful!, this is a serious case
of it didn't need fixing so leave it alone!, the new navigation bar takes
up far too much space at the top of every page, the announcement reappears every
time you change or refresh a page after you've clicked " close ",
it's just generally bad! where's the time machine button so i can rewind
to before it was implemented!
For the love of god undo this! PLEASEEE
To put it bluntly, I think the change sucks. Things that used to be just 1 click
away are now several clicks. Also, the yellow Monthly Maintenance banner at
the top will not go away.
I just happened to be looking up a part in the catalog when the change went live.
It asked me if I wanted a tour. When I clicked the button to take the tour,
nothing happened.

If your browser window's not large enough, the tour won't pop up. Also
you get a top bar without all the buttons tucked into a hamburger menu so even
more clicks away. Really bad if you're used to using the site in ~800 wide
like everything except the top bar is designed for.

It's a challenge to balance the (sometimes diametric) feedback from the diverse

We're looking for a brand-consistent and logo-friendly way to re-introduce
the festive bricks for the seasons and holidays. We'll likely have to animate
the festive bricks so that the unmodified BrickLink logo persists. It is on
the to-do list. We miss them, too!

When ever something new is introduced there will always be disagreements on it's
usefulness but there is one broken feature already and that was mentioned by
dinks, the yellow bar monthly maintenance announcement reappears every time
you change or refresh a page after you've clicked " close - a little
thing but it is annoying that now it can't be closed but just keeps popping
back up regardless what you do.
Plus I have to also agree that the new bar is rather large (tall). When filling
orders every extra bit of screen height that is taken up is a detriment.
Well it looks like the maintenance bar issue is already fixed!!
I do like the new main bar, it actually is pretty intuitive, just a little tall.
Jim
good to know it isn't just me at least 3 of us dont hate it so that's
a good start (aside form the notifications for processed orders/quotes 😅)
Far too tall, we could remove 40px of unused white space height at least.
tbh it might just be since I'm younger and more use to its "feel"
from other sites but its height isn't that bad, the size of the content in
the pages needs to be increased tho as right now the footer is massive on some
pages relative to the content

Whenever I resize my window, all the functionality of the top bar disappears.
For example, I have to maximize my window to access the parts catalog ( which
in itself requires some searching )

How about icons? Too much reading (because the subheadings are just thrown in
there with the sections with very little distinction) to find what you want.
Also, why did you make this change and NOT make it work right (no horizontal
scrolling) on mobile?

This new navigation bar is terrible. Is there a setting to get back the old one?
If they wanted a different look and feel, couldn't they simply have rethemed
it without changing so much functionality?
Small, incremental, targeted changes...

As people have already mentioned why now make it 2 clicks to get to pages? I
used to open Bricklink, click on my profile pic and it took me straight to 'My
Bricklink' (ONE CLICK), now it's two!!!
One click on the profile pic and then to click on my bricklink?? why make it
longer to get anywhere, also who's idea was it to have the banner automatically
expand if you run the mouse over it? if you happen to have the mouse at the top
of the page looking for something and you nudge it up by accident you open the
banner even though you don't want to.
Please put the pages back to how they were, it wasn't broken and didn't
need fixing!
Can we go back to old website setup. New lost links to out of stock items I need
to search for again. In general need to search for settings that were much easier
to find before.

Who comes up with these ideas? The new site is terrible. One third of the page
on top to highlight "marketplace", "Studio" etc. which I don't
use. One third of the page on the bottom for some sort of sitemap that is pretty
much worthless 99% of the time. The middle of the page, where most of the work
is done by sellers, is small. Barely able to navigate in it.
Also where is the page that shows out of stock items in ones store? It used
to be be able to find all that stuff on one page. Now it is mixed up into many
pages and many clicks. Plus when trying to upload new items one has to go back
out to the main inventory page. Where is the bar on top each page in the inventory
that one could just enter in a number and hit enter and bam you are there?
Can we just have the option to go back to how it was.

Haha, this redesign is so bad it actually made me laugh. Especially the size
difference between the menus and the actual site is pretty absurd. And I don't
know how to get to the whole forum, like, at all. Can't see my carts well,
notification numbers are bugged (I have quotes to send..? No I don't ).
To think they just dumped this on us thinking "yeah, this looks good, this
will totally work, nothing is wrong with this" I'm glad Bricklink
isn't as important to me as it was in the past, otherwise this would all
bother me a lot more.
I guess all of this will be adjusted, repaired or reverted eventually, it's
just silly that the actual live audience gets to be the guinea pigs for this
rather than some testers.

Changing it to half the size makes it more in line with the rest of the website,
but on the phone I would say that the new one is even smaller than the previous
one, and also on the phone you need 4x the clicks than before.

reason for the nav bar to be so tall.

Yup and the font could be much smaller too. To indicate hierarchy/importance,
just +2pt or something would do, or bold. And if it's for readability:
if I can read the rest of the site then surely I can read the navigation bar
too. The carts pulldown list now only shows me 2,5 carts at a time in massive
font size, instead of a nice list. The whole site now looks like some kind of
optician's test with characters of all sizes
Changes are always hard to take, but here's my first impression...
The navigation bar is hard on the eyes. How about a dark mode option? or break
up the categories with some alternating colorful tabs?
The drop down for Community to get to the forum isn't very useful. It drops
down to the individual forum topic links instead of being able to scroll thru
as posts come in. If I go to my "My BL" page, I can click on "forum
messages" and get to what I'm used to seeing. Not the end of the world,
but imo just seems like new users will be even more confused by the forum.
Where's the festive brick for December?

Agreed. This change was completely unnecessary. Nothing broken, so fix it??!
Luckily I'm not a big user anymore too, so BrickLink change a bit more please
that will give other sites just more chance for a bigger piece of the market

Why anyone would make changes to an online retail site in the month of December
is beyond me?
I don't dislike it (yet), but I wouldn't have run the risk of doing a
deployment during the busiest time of the year.
Sorry if this been mentioned in one of all the threads but when I try to leave
feedback for an order I placed as a buyer, it takes me to this page where I need
to verify as a seller ! Anyone else with this hick-up?

It's just because you're a seller and as a seller have to confirm the
OTP thing.
The fact it's requested when you're posting in Forum, browsing in Catalog
or giving a Feedback is just either implementation flaw or debatable, or complicated...
