I have a pile of part 4499 (longbow and arrow) and am trying to separate brown
from reddish brown. I have a few of each which are obviously one or the other
but are left when a bunch in the middle. Is it safe to assume that if the color
is not obviously reddish brown then the parts are just a variation on brown,
or could it be the other way around? Most of my unlisted inventory of parts
is older stock.
Hi Heidi,
Could you take one of your large brown parts - like the boat hulls you have listed
- and lay the bows in it to compare? I have a brown boat hull section I keep
at my desk for exactly this reason. Also, if that doesn’t help try sitting in
direct sunshine. A good task light is helpful for separating the old and new
browns/grays but when I’m in doubt, I head for a sunny spot. Hopefully that helps!

Thanks for any insight.
Always learning,

Thank you very much for your suggestions! I appreciate your insight. I will certainly
give that a try tomorrow. I hadn't thought about comparing them to the brown
boat parts.
It had seemed to me that with many parts it has been easier telling the difference,
but I thought that I had read that there are variations in color within some
colors like dark red and maybe brown.
