Hey there all. I was asked to create a Lego Mosaic of a wedding photo. I have
sourced the 16x16 black flat tiles and the 1x1 round studs, but I have no clue
what I need to build the frame.

So, by frame, I mean in the kits such as the Harry Potter Mosaic, the last step
in the build is to add a perimeter and backing for support as well as mounting
brackets for hanging. While I could copy the parts list, the standard out-of-the-box
Lego Mosaic is 3x3 panels (48x48 if we are going by stud count). The two that
I am making are 5x5 (80x80 in studs) and 5x7 (80x112) respectively.

I would love for someone to put me in the right direction to build frames for
these guys. Help is appreciated, Thanks in advance.

Go to lego's website. Near the bottom there is a link to instructions. Enter
a similar set number and look through the instructions.

A 3x3 has 12 units of edge.
A 5x5 has 20 units of edge.
A 5x7 has 24 units of edge.

So that means you need approximately 4 Harry Potter sets worth of frame.

The bigger issue is that as you get larger, the flex of the joints between 16x16
panels increases causing the 2x plates on the back to pop off. It's quite
annoying.

This is one of 4 mosaics my wife has built that are 10(160 studs) x 11(176 studs).
