I just made my first sale - I don't see anywhere to add the tracking number..
do i just send the buyer a message with it?

Go to customizing view on orders page and flag tracking number.

If you click on the invoice, at the very bottom there’s an option to “edit order”.
You can add the tracking number there. Afterwards, the tracking number will show
up on the invoice at the top right.
