* Change 2 Part Red hngpltS Hinge Plate 1 x 2 with Single Finger on End {match ID 2 to 4}
Comments from Submitter:
I received this set in the mid 1980's. At this time the two hinges had been substituted once more with the 4275b and 4276b. I do not know whether we can add two alternates for the same part, but maybe we could add a comment?

Let's study the timeline of these hinges:
This set was released in 1981 and was produced until the end of 1985.
TLG first produced the hinges hngpltD and hngpltS in 1981 and they were produced
until the end of 1982.
Since 1983, they changed the mold of these hinges and 4275a and 4276a were produced
until the end of 1984.
*
4275a Hinge Plate 1 x 2 with 3 Fingers on End - Solid Studs Parts: Hinge
*
4276a Hinge Plate 1 x 2 with 2 Fingers on End - Solid Studs Parts: Hinge
Since 1985, TLD again change the mold of hinges and 4275b and 4276b were introduced
and produced (until about 2006-08) when they were discontinued.
*
4275b Hinge Plate 1 x 2 with 3 Fingers on End - Hollow Studs Parts: Hinge
*
4276b Hinge Plate 1 x 2 with 2 Fingers on End - Hollow Studs Parts: Hinge
So this set potentially came with the red hinges 4275b and 4276b and I personally
believe later productions (those in 1985) of this set did come with them.
Are you sure your copy came with these hinges? (or perhaps 4275a and 4276a).
Do you know in what year your set was bought? A Lego catalog that was inside
the box and you probably kept it can help to find out the year of release.

Thanks for the very detailed feedback. Yes, I actually still have a Technic catalogue
copyrighted with 1984 that lists the helicopter, but it may also belong to a
similarly old 8020. I received it in 1985 or at latest in 1986. It was the first
"difficult" Technic set and I received it during my earlier primary school
years.
In every case, to be sure there was no mix-up, I cross-checked my whole inventory
and I do not possess any red brick of type 4275a/4276a or earlier models. Therefore
it came for sure with the "b" variants.

Great! I believe this request should be accepted. Theory and evidence align with
each other here!
